Aqara has announced its launch Thermostat Hub W200 in North America, marking the company’s first regional thermostat and adding another Matter-enabled device to its growing ecosystem.
The W200 combines the functionality of a thermostat with the power of a hub, positioning it as a climate controller and the central node of smart home automation. Most notable is its support for both Wire and Zigbeealongside Matter compatibility, which allows it to be integrated with Matter-enabled platforms including Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings.
A PROFESSIONAL AND A KEY PERSON
The inclusion of Thread, although not the first for Aqara, is important, as it allows the W200 to work as part of a low-power mesh network, improving reliability and responsiveness to compatible devices. Combined with its Matter support, the device can act as a Matter bridge between Aqara’s Zigbee ecosystem and wider Matter-based setups.
Aqara says the W200 can handle it more than 50 device types, including third party deviceseffectively making it a hub for many mixed-use projects. This coincides with an industry-wide shift to Matter as the unifying standard, with Thread widely used as the preferred transport layer for low latency, spatial connectivity.
APPLE FEATURES FOR HOME AND AUTOMATION
The W200 is also bundled with new Apple Home features, incl Adaptive Temperature again Clean Energy Guidanceas long as the home is running the latest OS versions and has a compatible home hub such as an Apple TV or HomePod/mini. These features allow the thermostat to adjust heating and cooling based on occupancy patterns and grid conditions, although functionality is currently limited to established regions and configurations. In addition, the thermostat can respond to occupancy using its own built-in mmWave presence sensorenabling automation based on real-time detection rather than simple motion triggers.
OVER THE INTERIOR THERMOSTAT
The W200 features a 4” touchscreen that can display information from other Aqara devices, such as videos at the door again smart lockssuccessfully converted it into a wall-mounted control panel. It also supports remote sensors via Zigbee, which allows temperature and location data to be collected from different rooms, which can be used to refine HVAC control.
TRAVEL AND INSTALLATION
Designed for North American HVAC systems, the W200 supports a wide range of setups, including institutions, heat pumps, boilersagain PTAC units. It requires a C-wire for installation, with an optional adapter sold separately $29.99. Communication includes dual-band Wi-Fi.
AVAILABILITY

The Aqara Thermostat Hub W200 is available now on Amazon.com, priced at Rs $159.99with wide retail availability through supermarkets. Apple Store version expected later in 2026.
