KBIS 2026: High technology that surprised us at the smart home tech show

KBIS, or the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show, is similar to CES, but only focuses on the home.

The show was attended by many major domestic brands, such as Samsung and LG, and thousands of other exhibitors and attendees. We’ve been walking the halls to find the best technology, from smart technology to smart electronics.

So, let’s get to the winners…here are the products that impressed us the most at the show.

Fotile Smart Hood JQG7515

If you’re looking to complete a smart kitchen, how about adding a smart hood?

Fotile’s 5th generation smart hood is a design statement and a tech lover’s dream, complete with Wi-Fi, Alexa compatibility and responsive touch activation that allows you to open and close the hood without touching anything.

The icing on the cake is SynCook, a feature that connects the hood to other cooking zones or the oven and automatically turns on the smoke exhaust as soon as cooking begins.

AI is everywhere, and now it’s at your doorstep. LG’s latest addition to its growing Signature line of high-end electronics is a tech lover’s dream. It connects to the ThinQ product service, has a large 6.8-inch LCD for easy navigation and uses an internal camera and an AI gourmet feature to ensure that every meal comes out perfectly.

Kwikset Halo Select Plus

This Smart Key-enabled Matter key looks simple on the outside, but it is packed with many important features that make it stand out from the sea of ​​competing products.

Select Plus supports NFC and Apple Home keys, so you can simply tap your iPhone or Apple Watch to unlock it without needing an app or hub. You can choose between the Matter protocol or Wi-Fi with the Kwikset app, while there are all the usual smart home integrations like Alexa, Apple Home and Google Home.

We don’t often cover ovens on The Ambient, but it’s rare to see one with as much technology built-in as KitchenAid’s latest beauty. This is a fully connected oven, which can be controlled by voice, from your phone or from the clear and easy-to-use display on the front.

But the star of the show is the internal camera, which flashes a view of your cooking directly to your phone so you can keep an eye on that delicious lasagna or batch of cookies from anywhere.

That’s not all, as the camera can tell what you’re cooking and monitor your progress, automatically adjusting the cooking time if needed.

Whirlpool has showcased many smart home developments at KBIS, but this high-end clock caught our eye.

It supports Matter, so it can easily become part of your already connected home without the need for additional hubs or additional accessories, and can be controlled with your voice.

While it may not be smart, we also liked the addition of the soft basket – a removable inner basket for those items that require a little maintenance. You no longer have to do a separate soft wash, and the basket can always be removed if you want more space.
