It’s fair to say that the quality of JBL’s wireless headphones has been steadily improving over the years, even if they’ve failed to match their biggest rivals in the space such as Sony, Bose and Bowers & Wilkins.
We’ve already reviewed JBL’s current Tour One M3 flagships and rated them as solid four-star performers. And JBL will be hoping its latest move goes a step further in catching up to the competition.

There has been an interesting development, which seems to bring a new direction in sound quality from the brand’s top headphones, starting with the Tour One M3.
According to JBL, users can expect “sound that is clear, balanced, and true to the artist”. It also says the updates will “set a new benchmark for accuracy and clarity”.
JBL also updates the Smart Tx transmitter interface, which is the Tour One M3 over-ear accessory and the charging case interface for its Tour Pro 3 earbuds. They share many of the same features and functions.
It promises a new menu system with horizontal and vertical scrolling, better graphics, larger icons and intuitive layouts designed to make the user experience smoother.
Last, but not least, the headphones and earbuds also get a new green finish (see above), complete with brass accents. It’s “inspired by British motorsport heritage and modern trends” and looks the most stunning in the images we’ve seen so far.
The new finish will be available from mid-May at selected retailers and on the JBL website, with prices for the JBL Tour Pro 3 at £279.99 / €299.99, the JBL Tour One M3 £329.99 / €349.99, and the JBL Tour One M3 with Smart TX £379.99.9 / €.
