In many cases, Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, or another media application can automatically start playing on your iPhone in your car if you have been using one of these music applications in the past, and when you turn on your car, its Bluetooth or wireless CarPlay will automatically connect to your iPhone and resume playback.

It’s also possible that you or someone else who has access to your iPhone has previously set it to automatically play your favorite music when you connect to the car via Bluetooth or CarPlay. In this case, just turn off or remove the default.

5) go ‘It is connected‘ is checked and ‘Disconnected’ is unchecked. Then, click Run Fast so that this automation can run without your permission, then tap The next one.

From now on, when your iPhone automatically connects to your car’s Bluetooth system, any media playback that might start automatically will stop immediately, unless you do it manually.

When the music plays automatically thanks to CarPlay

If your car has wireless CarPlay and it automatically connects to your iPhone and starts playing music, follow the same 9 steps described above, but in step 3, select CarPlay instead of Bluetooth.

You can even have both Bluetooth and CarPlay enabled to be on the safe side.

If the music is still playing automatically in your car

In this case, check your car’s media settings to see if music or radio plays automatically when the ignition is on. Turn off similarly named settings Play music automatically, Automatically play the radio, Restart media playbackand so on.

If I manually go to my car’s radio section (FM/AM) once, it remembers what I like and automatically starts playing the radio the next time I park my car. I don’t like this, and unfortunately, there is no setting in my car’s infotainment system to stop this behavior. But I noticed that if I use Bluetooth or CarPlay a few times after starting my car, it seems to reset my preferences and no longer automatically plays the radio.
