Introduction
The MINISFORUM AtomMan G7 Pro is a gaming-oriented Mini-PC that uses laptop-class hardware, combining Intel’s Core i9-14900HX and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU in a tall, slim vertical chassis. It’s designed for those who want stronger gaming and graphics performance than a typical Mini-PC can offer, while keeping the system much smaller than a traditional desktop tower. It’s certainly bigger than a typical compact office-style Mini-PC, but that extra size gives it room for hardware that can deliver a solid gaming experience and super-fast standard desktop performance.
The AtomMan G7 Pro supports up to 96 GB of DDR5 memory, offers two M.2 2280 SSD slots, and includes USB4, HDMI 2.1, 2.5GbE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and an SD card reader. The MINISFORUM also includes a two-fan cooling setup with six heat pipes and a three-sided exhaust structure. There are also virtual switches for Work Mode and Game Mode, which change system power limits and fan behavior, while integrated control software provides access to fan settings, RGB lighting, and basic system monitoring.
The AtomMan G7 Pro features a GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU, based on NVIDIA’s Blackwell design and equipped with 4,608 CUDA cores, 8 GB of GDDR7 memory, a 128-bit bus, and 384 GB/s of memory bandwidth, i.e. a desktop RTX 5060 Ti. In a system like this, that’s enough to deliver excellent performance for 1080p games, with 1440p and possibly a few titles depending on settings and whether DLSS is used.
It’s still important to distinguish it from the desktop RTX 5070, though, since the desktop card has more cores, more VRAM, and more memory bandwidth, so there’s still a noticeable performance gap between the two. The RTX 5070 Laptop system can still be a serious gaming machine, but the 8 GB frame buffer means that heavy games at high settings and resolutions will put more pressure on it than they will on a desktop card, and the results will vary greatly from system to system because the performance of the mobile GPU is very much tied to power management. The closest point of comparison in our charts would probably be the NZXT H2, although that’s a much larger machine with a full GeForce RTX 5080, so there’s an obvious trade-off between footprint and sheer power. That’s really the question with a system like this, how much of a desktop-style gaming experience can it retain while reducing the footprint so much.
At around $2,300 USD for the 32 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD configuration, the AtomMan G7 Pro is priced for a premium gaming system, not a typical Mini-PC. Our benchmarks will give us a better idea of whether it can deliver the level of playability and overall performance that justifies the price.
