XREAL officially launched XREAL AURA today at Wow 2026turning to the one who had been teased The Aura Project in a commercial product that is scheduled to arrive this fall. The device was first unveiled at Google I/O 2026 as part of a Google’s collaboration with XREAL for Android XRand now more technical details have been revealed: lightweight XR optical glasses built Android XR, Gemini-poweredand powered by Qualcomm’s new XR chip.
AURA uses a wired, split-compute architecture. Instead of putting all the processing, battery, and thermal loads inside the frame of the glasses, XREAL uses dedicated local computing unit powered by the Snapdragon Reality Elite. This keeps the headset very wearable while delivering the functionality it needs local computer, manual tracking, 6DoF experienceand AI-driven collaboration.
Mirrors include a 70-degree field of viewXREAL describes it as a borderless virtual canvas. That’s a key specification for the optical see-through XR, where the goal isn’t just to display the phone’s screen but to put useful, interactive digital content into the real world. Earth-facing sensors on the frame support manual tracking, 6DoF trackingagain multimodal AI experience with user permission.
Inside the frames, XREALs X1S Spatial Coprocessor it handles low-latency spatial display, sensor processing, and stable information based on XR glasses. Currently, Android XR it brings Access to the Google Play Store, Gemini integrationand a growing developer ecosystem.

XREAL has not announced the final price of AURA yetbut the company is opening reservations before the fall launch. Customers can reserve a place with $99 Start Creditwhich will convert to $199 credit on last purchaseby successfully offering first-time buyers a $100 off. XREAL also provides a Founder Priority Pass for $299limited to 2,000 reservations worldwidewhich ensures delivery on launch date in the regions based and including Hardware with special type numbers. Final MSRP will be announced closer to availability date.
