Compared to the regular Moto Buds 2, the Plus version adds Sound by Bose tuning, which includes 11mm dynamic drivers and 6mm micro-planar magnetic drivers. In other words, the Moto Buds 2 Plus have the hardware chops to sound as good as any of its competitors at this price point.
To experience the power of the Moto Buds 2 Plus, you’ll need to adjust your software to suit your listening preferences. Surround sound is enabled out of the box, but extras like hi-res audio, playback mode, and equalizers aren’t turned on by default. I tweaked these settings on the Moto Buds 2 Plus, and it improved everything from sound and call quality to multi-device connectivity. Here’s how you can do it, too.
Enable hi-res audio mode
Bluetooth is often the bottleneck of sound quality for wireless headphones and earbuds. However, there are ways to improve the quality of your audio without a cable within the Bluetooth range. As such, Moto Buds 2 Plus supports Bluetooth 6 and LHDC audio codec. LHDC stands for Low-Latency High-Definition Audio Codec, and promises wireless playback up to 1,000kbps.
By turning on the high definition audio mode of the Moto Buds 2 Plus, you can enjoy the high quality 24-bit/96kHz that the LHDC codec provides. To do so, open the file Moto Buds application, touch The soundand press convert next to Hi-Res mode. Tap Go ahead to start listening to music with your Moto Buds 2 Plus in the highest possible quality.
Turn on gaming mode for low latency
LDHC is the saving grace of the Moto 2 Buds Plus, and hi-res audio isn’t the only thing it offers. This codec also supports low latency audio, which is great for playback. For Motorola Play mode designed to reduce latency to improve gameplay, prioritizing responsiveness over almost everything else. However, it doesn’t turn on automatically — you need to turn it on every time you want to use it.
To find it, open the Moto Buds application and press The sound. Then switch to close conversion Play mode in its place. Remember that this low-latency audio mode turns off automatically when your earbuds are disconnected from your device. Additionally, you cannot use the hi-res audio mode and the game at the same time. It’s one or the other.
Play with the EQ to personalize your sound
There is another setting in The sound Moto Buds 2 Plus settings page you should pay attention to: equalizer. Motorola offers you a 10-band customizable EQ that allows you to fine-tune the sound of your earbuds to your liking. If you like more bass, go for it. If you prefer subtle bass and bold highs, go for treble. You can find EQ at The sound page, and touch Estimator opens the interface.
There are four ready-to-go presets to choose from: Beautiful Treble, Bass BoostVocal Boostagain Flat. Or, you can create a Custom reset your own. Simply grab the 10-band slider and drag it up or down to adjust the gain for a specific frequency range. This gives your Moto Buds 2 Plus a personalized sound that you can’t get otherwise.
Activate Crystal Talk for clear calls
If you plan to use your Moto Buds 2 Plus for calls, it’s worth powering it up Crystal Talk feature. Toggling this is on the home page of the Moto Buds app, and turning it on enables AI-powered noise cancellation on your calls. It amplifies your voice while blocking unwanted environmental sounds, such as wind. If you make calls in noisy places, this setting is for you.
Share your audio with Dual connection
For those who switch between devices often, the Moto Buds 2 Plus supports connecting to two Bluetooth devices at the same time. At least one of those devices must be an Android phone, and you can set it up Two-way communication in the Moto Buds app. Investigate the change closely Two-way communication in the Moto Buds app on your primary Bluetooth device. Then, press the Moto Buds 2 Plus case button to enter pairing mode.
Pair your earbuds to a second device, and the Moto Buds 2 Plus will automatically switch between the two devices. The earbuds will automatically play and pause audio and switch between devices based on priority. If you’re listening to music on your laptop and a call comes in on your phone, the Moto Buds 2 Plus will switch to your earbuds to help you take the call.
