SwitchchBot Introduces RGBICWW Ceiling Light powered by Matter

The SwitchBot has officially announced i RGBICWW Ceiling Lightextends its range of Matter-powered lighting with a smart lamp that includes an adjustable white light, RGBIC ambient lightagain The relevance of the story in one game. The launch may have come as a complete surprise, however, as many noticed that the ceiling light had appeared on SwitchBot’s website ahead of today’s announcement.



The new model also joins a small number of smart ceiling lights aimed at Matter users. Although products like Aqara’s T1M Ceiling Light can be exposed to Matter with a compatible Aqara hub, the T1M itself uses Zigbee 3.0. By comparison, the new SwitchBot ceiling light supports Matter over Wi-Fi natively, allowing it to connect directly to compatible Matter platforms without requiring a SwitchBot hub. Available in two sizesThe ceiling light is designed to provide both daily light and decorative ambient lighting.

IMPORTANT FOR WI-FI

SwitchchBot RGBICWW Ceiling Light supports The issue with Wi-Fiwhich allows direct integration with platforms including Apple Home, Home Assistant, Homey, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home. Once added to Apple Home, users can turn a light on or off, adjust brightness, change colors, and add automation alongside other Matter-compatible devices. Unlike most smart lighting products that rely on a proprietary hub to be compatible with Matter, the ceiling light connects directly to Matter’s Wi-Fi enabled controllers.

RGBIC LIGHT AND VARIABLE WHITE LIGHT

In addition to standard white light, the ceiling light uses RGBIC technology, which allows different parts of the light to display multiple colors at the same time in animated lighting effects. For everyday use, white LEDs offer adjustable color temperatures from 2700K to 6500K, and dimming from 1% to 100%. This allows users to switch between cool lighting for tasks such as cooking or working, and warm lighting for relaxing or reading.

TWO SIZES

Bigger 15″ model produces until 3,200 lumens and is intended for bedrooms, kitchens, small living rooms, recreation rooms, and home offices. A small one 12″ version brings to 2,000 lumensmaking it ideal for hallways, bathrooms, utility rooms, closets, storage areas, balconies, and other compact spaces.

OPERATING SYSTEM, VOICE, AND REMOTE CONTROL

Using the SwitchchBot app, users can access 26 preset scenes and eight lighting effects, adjust colors and brightness, create schedules, and create lighting patterns throughout the day. The app also includes functions for a gradual light to wake up and a gentle transition during sleep. The light supports voice control via Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home. For those who prefer physical controls, the ceiling light comes with a SwitchBot remote control, which allows for lighting adjustments without opening the app.

DESIGNED FOR EVERYDAY USE

RGBICWW Ceiling Light offers Color rendering index (CRI) of 90 or more to provide more accurate color reproduction in all furniture, artwork, decor, and everyday items. According to SwitchchBot, the light also features flicker-free, glare-reduced brightness to improve comfort during extended use, while gradual transitions in input and dimming provide smooth light changes. The power-back memory function allows users to choose whether the light stays off, turns on automatically, or returns to its previous state after power is restored.

INTEGRATION WITH THE SWITCHBOT ECOSYSTEM

The ceiling light can be installed on automation and other SwitchBot devices. For example, when paired with the SwitchBot Presence Sensor, lights can automatically turn on when someone enters a room and turn off again when the area is empty. It can also work alongside the SwitchBot Video Doorbell, Lock Ultra, and Lock Vision to trigger lighting based on arrivals, departures, or visitors.
