Quick Alerts: Wahoo KICKR CORE 2 On Sale for $399 (Zwift Cog or Cassette)

Just a quick heads up that Wahoo has sold the Wahoo KICKR CORE 2, as an ‘end of season’ sale. While I’m not entirely sure I’ll count the first few days of ‘the end of the coaching season’, most of us won’t feel bad about it.
The KICKR CORE 2 was announced back in early September (2025), and it’s mostly a technical upgrade that adds a bunch of new features, rather than any differences in the flywheel/etc… As a quick reminder, here’s what’s new:
– Added WiFi connection (helps in certain areas, and automatically downloads firmware updates)
– Added racing mode (quick update level)
– Added ‘Sensor Hub’, Bluetooth bridging, useful for Apple TV users in particular
– Added secure/tethered/encrypted Bluetooth pairing for EU security compliance (EU RED)
– Added new trainer LEDs for trainer status/WiFi
– The legs have been changed to be flat (compared to the circle before)
Also, at the beginning of January, it received another firmware update, which allows you to pair Zwift controllers with the Sensor Hub (again, very useful for Apple TV users). I continued to use the CORE 2 unit I purchased, which my wife rides most of the time as her primary trainer. It continues to work in our area.
The unit is offered in two flavors, one with Zwift Cog/Click (specifically the new V2 dual-set buttons), and the second with an 11sp cassette. The underlying hardware is the same in both, and you can always change to other cassettes (as I did in my review – on the 12sp cassette).
In any case, to keep this short, the KICKR CORE 2 retails for $399, regardless of which model you buy. Additionally, in the EU it is 399EUR, and in the UK £399.
In terms of upgrading, the important thing you’ll want to decide is whether you care about those electronic features above. Meaning, if you already have a KICKR CORE 1, you won’t ‘feel’ anything different here. It’s the same gymnast as before. Likewise, if you have a KICKR CORE V4/V5/V6, those flywheels are bigger. However, if you care about those electronic reviews, then this is worth considering.
