Apple may launch a Vision Air headset and smart glasses in the next two years, an analyst said

The annual Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in early June brought a lot of news about the latest updates to the company’s operating system for all its devices. One device that received little attention, despite being a new product from the company, was the Apple Vision Pro.
The VR headset is just over a year old, and it has yet to sustain public appreciation for its expensive price and lack of functionality. While Apple Vision Pro has inspired the company to introduce Liquid Glass in all future software updates, the company has a few features to reveal in the headset. However, it seems that Apple is coming to everyone’s head, literally.
Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

It’s going to be a busy 2027 for Apple
According to Kuo, Apple will release a lighter version of its Apple Vision Pro in 2027, which it calls. Vision Air. This new VR headset will stretch more than 40%. This new lightweight headset will also come at a very low price.
Before the release of the Vision Air, Kuo predicts that Apple will release another Vision Pro with the same design but an improved M5 processor that replaces the current M2 chip.
After that, in 2028, Kuo says Apple will release its second generation Vision Pro. This new headset will have a different design, lighter weight, and lower price than the original, with a Mac-grade processor.
For smart glasses, Kuo predicts that Apple will release its own smart glasses in 2027, with shipments expected to be 3 to 5 million units. Apple has “made progress” on a special chip designed for smart glasses, which could include versions with and without AR functionality. These glasses will compete directly with Meta, the current market leader, as well as Ray-Ban and upcoming Oakley models.
The smart glasses will offer multiple frame and material options, as well as voice control and touch recognition, according to Kuo. The glasses will also have audio playback, camera, video recording, and artificial intelligence AI features.
The glasses don’t stop there. Kuo predicts that Apple will start producing a pair of XR glasses in 2028. These will have the same voice control and touch recognition as smart glasses while having a color display. Kuo also said that Apple is working on another “showcase device” that could return to development. This device can bind to an Apple device, such as an iPhone, and display content.
