The Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro take on the AirPods Pro 3 with improved headphones and fit

Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, with the latest version upgrading the design from standard audio buds to an ever-present AI hardware companion.
Arriving alongside the unlockable Galaxy Buds 4, the Pro model is designed to be one of the main interfaces for Samsung’s growing Galaxy AI ecosystem. In this generation, the brand proposes a redesign that prioritizes all-day wear and a new range of hands-free gestures.
And with deep support for Google Gemini (and its Bixby), Samsung is positioning the Buds 4 Pro as an independent portal for ambient computing and a rival to Apple’s AirPods Pro 3.

The introduction of ‘Nods’ is a software add-on in the title, which allows users to nod to receive calls or confirm Bixby notifications and shake their heads to reject alerts or silence notifications.
This is paired with an advanced ‘Interpreter’ mode that supports real-time translation in over 22 languages directly from the ear—a feature that further advances the earbuds to the de facto AI hardware companion on the phone.
While they lack the heart rate monitoring of the current AirPods Pro 3, Samsung has doubled down on audio-led intelligence here.

The new ‘Super Clear Call’ feature uses super-wideband technology to double the bandwidth of conventional Bluetooth calls, while Enhanced Intelligence ANC and Adaptive EQ analyze the user’s unique ear position in real time to balance immersion and environmental safety.
Blade design and wide woofers
The hardware itself has also undergone a significant redesign of the ‘Blade’, moving to a flatter, more secure body based on more than 10,000 anatomical simulations.
The Pro model has a premium brushed-metal finish with an engraved pinch point, making it easy to locate sensors for manual adjustments. Under the hood, Buds 4 Pro has a new two-sided speaker system with a wide woofer—which increases the effective speaker area by about 20% compared to the previous generation—to deliver natural Hi-Fi sound at 24-bit/96kHz.
The charging case has also been given a facelift, with an illuminated lid and a dedicated button that can trigger the Find My Phone chime. It even simplifies the ecosystem experience by allowing users to connect to Galaxy phones or tablets by opening the lid, bypassing the need to install the Galaxy Wearable app.
While these keys are designed to thrive alongside the growing Galaxy ecosystem—which is rumored to soon include Galaxy Glass—they remain a versatile option for any user looking for a high-quality “eyes and ears” AI experience.
Finishing and availability
The Galaxy Buds 4 Pro is priced at $249 / £219, while the standard Galaxy Buds 4 sits at $179 / £159. Both models are available for pre-order from February 25, with general availability from March 11.
The Pro is available in White or Black matte finishes, as well as a Pink Gold finish exclusive to Samsung.com customers.
We’ll be posting our full impressions of the Buds 4 Pro soon, putting those head gestures and AI translation tools to the real-world test.
