How to Fix Error 1109 During an iPhone Restore/Update
There are several possible solutions to resolve error 1109 during update and restore, depending on the cause. Try this in descending order:
Temporarily disable VPN, anti-virus, proxy, etc
Try to disable any VPN software, firewall software, proxy service, antivirus, or similar applications that may affect the Internet connection and the computer’s communication with the outside world.
Change the computer’s DNS

Hard restart iPhone, restart Mac/PC
The following is a classic troubleshooting step for all electronics: reboot the device.
On an iPhone, press and release Volume Up, press and release Volume Down, then press and hold the Side/Power button until the Apple logo appears on the screen. You may have to hold down the power/lock button for a while before you see the Apple logo, this is normal.
For a Mac, go to the Apple menu and choose Restart.
On a Windows PC, go to the Start/Windows menu and select Restart computer.
Once everything restarts, try to restore again with Finder, iTunes, app Apple Devices.

If you’ve tried all of the above and the error still appears, there may be network issues beyond the troubleshooting steps described here, a faulty USB cable, a faulty USB port, or some firmware problem or hardware problem on the computer itself. This error message is annoying, but it is not the most rare thing in the world, as you will find many reports about it in the Apple forums and elsewhere, showing some generality mainly due to DNS and internet connection problems.
You can visit an Apple Store or contact official Apple Support for further assistance if needed.
The above troubleshooting techniques will usually fix the problem, because many users report that DNS settings, VPN/antivirus software, or a specific network problem are to blame. Use the steps described above, and hopefully you won’t see error 1109 again when using restore or update.
