Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Design and display rumors
From what we’ve heard so far, this year’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 will reportedly take inspiration from the special edition of last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 6, a limited-edition foldable sold only in Korea and China that was bigger, faster, thinner, lighter, and offers better cooling, speakers, and an improved main camera.
These changes, along with the phone’s much smaller bezels, could translate to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 getting bigger~8.2-inch foldable display (front 7.6 inches), a 6.5-inch cover screen (previously it was 6.3 inches), and it adopts a unique form factor 8.9mm thick (4.5mm when unfolded) — although some reports suggest the phone could be up to 3.9mm thick when unfolded, making it the thinnest Galaxy Fold to date.
It has been suggested that some of the construction of the Z Fold 7 will remain the same, which means that it will offer the same structure as the Z Fold 6 while displaying the same features. Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with 120Hz refresh ratemeasured in 2,600 or so of high light.

In terms of color choices, it looks like the Z Fold 7 will be available in a few different colors. Android Central has reported more color leaks, including a clear Blue Shadow, Jet Black, and Silver Shadow. But Samsung can save the unique colors for its special store.

With leaks related to Samsung’s Galaxy Fold 7 appearing compact and fast ahead of July’s rumored Galaxy Unpacked event, expect more news to follow on the device in the coming days as we get closer to the official unveiling.
These rumored changes to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 suggest a more expensive, durable, and attractive device than ever before. Samsung confirmed in May 2025 that post One UI 8 “will launch Samsung’s new fold this summer,” making the Z Fold 7 one of the first devices to use the new customized Android 16 UI.

To get a full look at what the Z Fold 7 will be capable of, we’ll have to wait to hear directly from Samsung during next week’s Galaxy Unpacked event. But until then, there’s a lot of information here to digest, and the Galaxy Fold looks stronger than ever based on these early reports.
