Microsoft 365 is $99 per month for the E7 bundle

Microsoft is one of the most sought-after companies in the world, boasting a market capitalization of $2.92 a trillion at the time of writing. That prominence is largely due to its innovation and investment in software, particularly with the Microsoft 365 suite and Windows as an operating system.
While Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella acknowledged that Bill Gates’ factory vision for Microsoft helped guide the company for decades, he pointed out that “it’s not enough.” He pointed out that the tech giant is now doubling down on security, quality, and AI transformation as top business priorities.
💬 What do you think about AI integrated in Microsoft 365?
It’s unclear when Microsoft plans to make its new offering more widely available. Interestingly, the company has recently announced that it will update its AI strategy in Windows 11, possibly reducing or removing features that users find less important, such as the integration of Copilot in applications such as Notepad and Paint.
Following Microsoft’s FY26 Q2 earnings report, investors remain cautious about making more money from the company’s expensive AI programs. Despite the revenue growth, concerns persist that Azure and Microsoft 365 application growth is falling short of expectations, while the use of heavy AI infrastructure is weighing on margins.
For context, the company spent $88.2 billion on capital expenditures last year. The official pointed out that most of the big money has been transferred to help AI companies and big AI labs, including OpenAI and Anthropic.
Last year, a report by The Information said that Microsoft’s internal AI efforts are taking an unexpected turn with projected cuts and sales targets for its Azure AI products across the board.
The report also said that Microsoft’s vendors were struggling to meet targets, largely due to the lack of its AI products. While market share trends tell a different story, Microsoft has denied the claims.
CEO Satya Nadella revealed that Copilot AI is seeing massive, growing use “about 3x every year,” but a separate report says that only 3.3% of Microsoft 365 and Office 365 users who interact with Copilot Chat actually pay for it.
It will be interesting to see if Microsoft’s reported E7 tier for its Microsoft 365 offering will attract interest among users if/when it ships.
Do you think Microsoft 365’s AI-enabled bundle will help Microsoft drive user interest and Copilot sales? Let me know in the comments.
