This five-star Epson 4K projector is our favorite pick – and it’s just dropped to its lowest price ever.

Are you in the market for a premium 4K projector? Look no further. Currently, this What Hi-Fi? Award winner available at the lowest price ever!
For just £2749 from Peter Tyson, the five-star Epson EH-LS9000 can be yours for £250 off its original launch price. Given this is only the second time we’ve seen a discount on this projector – previously it was down to £2899 – it’s definitely worth mentioning.
And there’s even better news: Peter Tyson is throwing in a free Apple TV 4K Wi-Fi with 64GB of storage to make the deal even sweeter. Considering we’re ranking our top picks among the best streaming devices, that’s an easy recommendation too.
The Epson EH-LS9000 stands proudly among the best projectors we’ve tested. Brilliant, sharp and three-dimensional image quality, amazing gaming clarity and performance, and quiet operation are just some of the reasons we’ve given it five stars.
Described by the Japanese company as an “affordable premium projector”, it sits below the LS12000 and above the premium QB1000. And while there have been some downgrades to get to that low price, this is still a completely different projector for the money.
Intended for use in a dark (perhaps black) home theater room, the black model fits inside. The White model can also be picked up at the same discount as of now, if you prefer that finish.
And it’s a quiet projector too, unless you push the brightness past 95 percent. Our expert testers say: “Even with the fan fully in, it’s still inaudible compared to most movie soundtracks.”
But, what does the picture look like? However, we say: “There’s a wonderful depth and depth to the image, which is especially impressive at the 100-inch scale of our screen, and you almost feel like you can reach into the image and poke small figures at a distance.”
With the Clear preset, you’ll get the most out of the LS9000, enjoying a picture with exceptional vibrancy and three dimensions without making things look forced. A small caveat though we noticed a relative lack of black depth in this setting.
It’s full of features, with HDR support on board, as well as HDR10 static and HLG format support and dynamic HDR10+. If you’re a gamer, you’ll also get a lot out of this projector, with its two HDMI 2.1 sockets capable of handling 4K/120Hz signals. We got fired up Ratchet & Clank: The Rift Apart on our PlayStation 5 and be treated to a smooth and responsive gameplay experience.
There’s no integrated smart streaming on the EH-LS9000, but with a free Apple TV 4K as part of the deal at Peter Tyson, you’ll be able to fill that gap.
Finally, our expert testers say: “A slight lack of black depth aside, the Epson EH-LS9000 is a unique home cinema machine that redefines performance expectations at this level.” And this price drop, down to just £2749 at Peter Tyson, makes it an even more attractive find!
