Essential+ Weekend Watchlist: Movies (March 6-8)
Paramount+ is the perfect streaming service to build your next movie franchise. It adds tons of movies every month. Most of these new additions come on the first day of the month, which was a few days ago. But even after the beginning of the month, we are still adding new and old theater movies every week.
So, let’s dive into it. Here are three new movies on Paramount+ that you need to stream this weekend.
Malcolm McMillan
Malcolm has had Tom’s Guide since 2022. He watches a lot of movies every year, and he thinks that Leonardo DiCaprio’s performance in “Blood Diamond” is very underrated.
‘”The Pink Pill: Sex, Drugs and Who’s in Control’ (2026)
Watch it open
Type: Documentary
What is it about? “The Pink Pill: Sex, Drugs and Who Has Control” focuses on the drug Addyi, which the media calls “Viagra for women.” The documentary follows efforts to bring a drug to market to treat hypoactive sex desire disorder (HSDD).
Why you should watch it: This film is not just about Addyi. It also highlights Cindy Eckert, an entrepreneur and women’s health advocate, who was instrumental in making Addyi available to pre- and post-menopausal women. If you want to learn about something you may not be familiar with, this documentary may have covered you.

‘Blood Diamond’ (2006)
Watch it open
Type: A thrilling political battle
What is it about? “Blood Diamond” is set during the Sierra Leone Civil War, and stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Rhodesian gunman Danny Archer. In prison, he hears about a large pink diamond buried in a river, so he breaks him and the miner who buried it, Solomon Vandy (Djimon Hounsou), out of prison and agrees to reunite him with his family. But it’s not from the goodness of Danny’s heart; he wants a diamond in return.
Why you should watch it: There are two reasons to see this movie: DiCaprio and Hounsou. Both received Oscar nominations for their performances, cementing the show as a Hollywood blockbuster. It’s one of my favorite DiCaprio performances and may be the best of Hounsou’s current career.

‘Nocturnal Animals’ (2016)
Watch it open
Type: Neo-noir psychological thriller
What is it about? When Susan (Amy Adams) receives the novel, “Nocturnal Animals,” from her estranged husband, Edward (Jake Gyllenhaal), it leads her into a dark and twisted story. The novel focuses on Tony (again Gyllenhaal), an ordinary family man who loses his wife and daughter in a tragic kidnapping. He meets Det. Robert Andes (Michael Shannon) to bring the kidnappers to justice, but will Susan and Edward get back together once he puts the matter to rest?
Why you should watch it: This movie can easily stumble as it switches from the real world to the novel and back to the real world. But that’s not the case. Instead, this Tom Ford movie (yes, that Tom Ford) is playing, and you won’t be able to look away. The cast in this film is amazing, especially Shannon’s performance as the West Texas detective, Robert.
