Google has had a busy week, and that will continue as Pixel users can expect a slew of fixes to arrive.
Google’s Pixel patch notes announced the arrival of its March 2026 security patch for eligible devices. This update is rolling out to users with Pixel 6 up to Pixel 10a. The phones are all compatible with versions this time around, as Google says everyone should be looking for vCP1A.260305.016. This patch holds a number of Pixel fixes, as Google is still focusing on a few display and graphics issues.
Android Central Take
I really liked the Pixel 10 series when it was first announced. I really liked the Pixel 10 Pro XL, but the series has had its share of problems since its launch. Some are very frustrating, too. In particular, the series has struggled with graphics issues for a while, and Google’s efforts to resolve them—to my surprise—are ongoing. However, I haven’t seen much fanfare from Pixel 10 users, which is a small bright spot.
Google says it is rolling out a screen freeze fix from time to time that will render the Pixel 10 series inactive for a period of time. Another fix focuses on the “unclear” or “incorrect” behavior that the Pixel 10 series also suffered from. System crashes, a background dimming issue after accessing All Apps, and improvements to the Pixel 10’s GPU performance are included, too.
With the Pixel update, Google says it fixes UI freezes, device crashes during startup, and “incorrectly reported battery status” when using a wireless charger. This issue, too, has reportedly plagued users of the Pixel 10 series.
The remaining March patch notes are as follows:
- Fix delay in displaying speaker icon when adjusting sound settings
- Fix delay in displaying speaker icon when adjusting audio settings
- Fixed an issue that caused the camera service to crash, improving overall camera stability
- Fix an issue that could cause the app to freeze after quickly running recent apps and home navigation
- Fix the delay found when opening the audio output selector after playing music in the background
- Fix unexpected device instability that can cause temporary loss of mobile service
- General improvements to network connection stability and performance in certain situations
Oh, the Pixel 10
The Pixel 10’s graphics problems go back to late last year, as Google reportedly committed to rolling out consistent GPU updates for the series. While the Tensor G5 runs cooler than its predecessor, the chip still falls short of its performance gains when tested in high-end games. Additionally, users with the series report slowness and freezing while gaming due to GPU performance.

You buy a phone and expect it to carry some power, especially if you pick up the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL or the standard Pro model. The problems have subsided a bit. It seems that, little by little, Google is fixing the problems pointed out by consumers early on. Despite these graphic issues, it’s not like the Pixel 10 series isn’t holding its own. I just hope we can get rid of these problems completely soon.
Google has done just that; released a GPU fix, and January saw its biggest update to date. The company lists them as “standard fixes” for the Pixel 10’s GPU issues; however, those problems persist.
