Guys, don’t use a free VPN – this one only costs AU$43 for two years

Australia has followed up its tragic social media ban on under-16s with a comprehensive age verification law. Similar to the UK and other US states, Australians who want to access adult websites, games, and AI chatbots will now have to verify their age with a third-party age verification company.

The privacy risks of such measures have already been recognized by Australians, driving many to download VPN applications. However, research shows that both are legitimate VPN apps again free vpn downloads. And make no mistake – an anonymous VPN app that collects your data is probably more dangerous than the age verification software used to circumvent it.

PrivadoVPN is the cheapest VPN I’ve tested and confirmed to be safe to use, and just $30 all-in for a two-year subscription – which works out to about AU$43.

Is PrivadoVPN the best choice?

If you want reliable VPN protection at a low price, PrivadoVPN is my top recommendation. It’s fast, unblocks a lot of streaming sites, and is very easy to use – even if it’s your first time downloading a VPN. It doesn’t have regional pricing, but at US$1.11 per month, prepaid for US$30, expect it costs about AU$43 for everything.

However, PrivadoVPN is very basic, offering fewer extras than other top VPNs. Furthermore, although I have no reason to suspect that it is ineffective, its no-logging policy has not been independently tested.

If you’re on a budget but want a truly premium experience, Surfshark is the best choice. It’s expensive AU$2.79 / US$1.99 per month (about AU$75 / US$50 all-in).

It offers fast speeds, multiple server locations, and additional features like Alternative ID, which is great for creating a fake email address to claim discounts while avoiding spam.

In addition, it even provides a Free 7-day trial. All in all, a very sophisticated, inexpensive, and well-tested product.

If you are new to VPNs and looking for the easiest option available, ExpressVPN is the right choice. Also, it has been tested, and the applications are second to none, designed to make connecting as easy as possible. It’s also great for mobile, and I rate it as the best iPhone VPN overall. It’s a bit expensive $2.44 per month (about AU$3.47 per month), prepaid as US$68 (about AU$97).

But if you need a fast, efficient, and cheap VPN, it’s very hard to go wrong with PrivadoVPN.
