Amazfit Active Max gets podcast support in the latest update

Amazfit Active Max gets new software version 3.4.0.3 update which weighs 15.01MB. A few extras stand out including podcast support, hybrid training and rucking sports profiles.
Podcast app support is coming
For most people podcast app support will be an add-on for the title. The watch can now play podcasts directly from the device rather than relying solely on a connected phone. This is an update that has already been done on other Amazfit watches in the last month or so.
For people who prefer long spoken content during training, podcasts often replace music altogether. So the add-on fits well with the wider use case of the device.
Hybrid training and weighted walking tracking
Sports-focused additions to this update include support for Hybrid Training. There is also the ability to track the activity of traveling with a weighted backpack – better known as Rucking. This has become a popular form of endurance training because it combines strength work with intense cardio.
Hybrid training, on the other hand, suggests a wide range of functional support that combines different styles of movement in one session. Many users mix strength exercises with running intervals or bodyweight circuits. Dedicated support for that workout style helps track sessions that don’t fit neatly into one workout category.
The update notes also mention improvements in GPS performance in certain situations. Exact details are not provided, but you can expect better satellite tracking during exercise.
System stability and battery related tweaks
Beyond this the update mentions the adjustment of the sensitivity of scrolling in the lists of the watch interface. Small interface tweaks like this can improve the experience when navigating menus.
The changelog also mentions a setting for something described as a PHN experience when the watch’s battery is empty. The words suggest improved behavior when the battery reaches very low levels.
Some general system tweaks and bug fixes also appear in the changelog. These types of adjustments are rarely attention-grabbing but tend to smooth out the overall experience of using the device.
Unfortunately there is still no support for lactate threshold. This started on the Amazfit Active 3 but has not yet been rolled out to other watches.
