Aqara Announces New Lighting and Smart Keys

Aqara has quietly launched a number of new smart home products Light + Structure 2026the largest international trade fair for lighting and building technology held in Frankfurt last week. The company used the event to showcase its growing lineup of connected devices, including new lighting products and two upcoming smart locks designed for global markets.
While most of the announcement focused on professional build infrastructure and replacement platforms, the consumer-focused updates are of particular interest to smart home users. Aqara has unveiled a new range of lighting alongside two new locks, i U500 series as well as U600which aims to increase the company’s presence in the smart security segment.
Aqara Expands Its Smart Lighting Range
Aqara’s updated lighting lineup includes a range of indoor and outdoor products designed to integrate with the modern home ecosystem. Among the new devices are permanent outdoor lights, outdoor string lights, new floor lamp, LED Strip T2, and LED Bulb T2 E14.
Compatibility is another major objective. Aqara says the lighting lineup will include native Matter supportit works for both Thread and Zigbee networks integrating with large smart home platforms. This approach is intended to allow the lights to work seamlessly with systems such as Apple Home, Google Home, and other Matter compatible ecosystems.
Like other Aqara products, the lighting devices are designed to integrate with sensors, wireless switches, and automation rules. This allows users to create more advanced behaviors such as lights that automatically adjust based on location, time of day, or ambient conditions.
Aqara Smart Lock U500 Series

Next to lighting, Aqara presents i Smart Lock U500 seriesexpanding the company’s lock system with several variations designed for different types of doors.
The U500 series will be available at three versions
• Gate lock
• Rim Lock
• Glass Door Lock
These varieties are designed to work across a variety of door materials including metal, wood, metal, and glasswhich allows it to be installed in situations where traditional smart locks may not be suitable.
The main design goal of the U500 series is flexibility. Aqara says the locks can be installed without requiring repairs to the door itself, making them suitable for both residential and commercial installations where replacing the lock is better than replacing existing hardware.
Aqara has confirmed that the U500 should be available in Q2 2026
Aqara Smart Lock U600
The second lock announced is this Aqara Smart Lock U600which seems to be aimed specifically at the UK market. From the look of the lock it appears to be a full locking furniture and will support the lift and lock found on most UPVC and composite doors in the UK.
The U600 features ia slim, minimalist design and built to modern smart home standards. Significantly, it supports Apple Home Keyallowing users to unlock their doors directly using an iPhone or Apple Watch.
The lock also continues Matter over Threadwhich should provide faster response times and improved reliability,. This also enables the device to integrate with many smart home ecosystems via the Matter standard.
With Apple Home Key support combined with Matter compatibility, the U600 seems designed to appeal more to Apple-focused home users, especially in the UK where this type of lock design is common.
Aqara Continues to Expand its Smart Home Ecosystem
Although Aqara’s presence at Light + Building 2026 is mainly focused on professional infrastructure and integrated management platforms, the announcements of lighting and smart locks highlight the company’s progress in consumer home hardware.
New lighting products expand Aqara’s ecosystem into flexible lighting conditions, while The U500 and U600 switches show a clear focus on cross-platform compatibility and regional design requirements..
As adoption of Matter continues to grow across the industry, these devices reflect Aqara’s intent to create a comprehensive home system that works across all platforms while still providing deep integration with native systems like Apple Home.
