Aqara Launches New Camera Hub and International Doorbell Camera

Aqara announced the availability of Camera hub G350 as well as Doorbell G400 Camera (Wired), expands its latest range of smart home security. Both devices are designed to improve collaboration, monitoring, and home automation within connected home systems.

CAMERA HUB G350

The Aqara Camera Hub G350 is described by the company as the first Camera with issue certificate. It is intended to support collaboration by connecting directly to Matter-enabled platforms, allowing users to access live video, two-way audio, and notifications within compatible ecosystems. In addition to functioning as a home security camera, the device also functions as a Zigbee hub, Thread Border Router, and Matter Controller within the Aqara Home app, allowing Aqara Zigbee accessories and third-party Matter devices to be managed together. It can also act as a Matter bridge, allowing Aqara Zigbee products to be integrated with Matter platforms.

The camera uses a two lens system including a 4K wide angle lens and a 2.5K telephoto lens. It supports nine times hybrid zoom and includes a motorized pan-tilt mechanism designed to provide full room. Automatic tracking is used to track people or pets, while on-device processing aims to detect relevant sounds and events. Privacy features include encrypted cloud storage options, local recording support, and a visible lens cover that closes when the camera is turned off.

DOORBELL CAMERA G400 (WIRED)

The Doorbell Camera G400 (Wired) is designed for continuous outdoor operation. It offers 2K video resolution (although only if you install it only in the Aqara app), a 165º field of view, and a 3:4 aspect ratio aimed at capturing visitors and delivered packages. The unit supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) for integrated power and network connectivity, or can be connected to existing 8~24 volt doorbell wiring with dual-band Wi-Fi 6.

The device includes both local and cloud-based features. On-device processing enables basic recognition of people and movement without an Internet connection, while cloud processing can be used for additional identification tasks such as recognizing faces, packages, vehicles, or animals. Doorbell supports integration with Apple Home by using Secure Home Video Kitas well as Amazon Alexa, Home of Googleagain SmartThings. It also provides RTSP live streaming for use with network video recorders and platforms such as Home Assistant, as well as offering for the first time, support for the ONVIF standard.
