The upgraded Fire TV Omni QLED is available at a great price during the Amazon Spring sale

  • The new Amazon Fire TV Omni QLEDs were released exclusively in the UK last month.
  • It is a direct upgrade of the 2023 model, which received a five-star rating, boasting a significant increase in brightness, more dimming zones and faster processors.
  • All three screen sizes (50in, 55in and 65in) are at the lowest prices of £390, £450 and £690.

Amazon’s Fire TV OS is used by some of the best televisions in the business, and TVs of its kind have been very competitive in recent years.

The original Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED received a glowing review from Stephen Withers back in 2023, and this year’s new model makes a significant improvement on the formula. However, one thing that hasn’t changed is Amazon’s often aggressive pricing.

During the Amazon Spring Sale 2026, which continues until 11.59pm to Monday, March 16you can get all three screen sizes at a significant discount. And not just at advertised RRPs, which rarely tell the whole story. Each model is the cheapest it’s ever been, undercutting the attractive introductory prices we saw when it launched in February.

That means the 50in screen size will cost you £390 (average price: £637), the 55in model will set you back £450 (average price: £734), and the 65in option is available for £690 (average price: £1,031). I’m an advocate of buying the biggest TV you can afford (and fit comfortably in your living room), so I might go for the 65in option, but here I think the 55in wins on value.

Those prices put them right up there with the best Spring Sale TV deals, especially considering the improvements Amazon wants from these updated models.

Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED: A major upgrade to the 2023 model

The limited brightness was the weak point of 2023 Fire TV Omni QLED. In this case, the panels are said to be 60% brighter, which should result in better picture quality, especially when viewing Dolby Vision or HDR10+ HDR content. When we tested the 65in Omni QLED a few years ago, it achieved a peak brightness of 570cd/m.2 in the 10% window and 439cd/m2 in a full field pattern. If we take Amazon at its word, the new models are capable of approaching 1,000cd/m2.That’s still far behind the best Mini LED TVs, but most are bright enough for most living situations.

The 2026 Omni QLED is also said to have twice the dimming points of its predecessor. Additional dimming zones do not guarantee superior image performance, but when used correctly, they can improve contrast, reduce the blooming of bright objects, and create deeper blacks for an enhanced HDR experience.

The third major improvement is the Omni QLED processor, which is said to be 40% faster. Navigating on Fire TV isn’t always the fastest, but the new chip should help here. Sadly, it won’t stop the TV from promoting Amazon content above all else, but that’s something we’ve come to expect and learn to live with on Fire TVs.

The panel still has a native 60Hz refresh rate, so it can’t deliver as satisfying a gaming experience as the more expensive Amazon Fire TV Mini LED. Other than that, this is a great all-rounder. And at this very low price, it’s one of the best bargains available at Amazon’s first sales event of the year.
