Samsung is adding free repairs and more to its smartphone subscription plan

Samsung launched a smartphone subscription service in South Korea last year, and it quickly gained popularity among buyers of its high-end devices. Ahead of the launch of the Galaxy S26 series, the company is upgrading the plan with additional benefits, including a new three-year plan, extended insurance coverage, and more financial protection.
New pricing for Galaxy AI Subscription Club
The service, called the New Galaxy AI Subscription Club, now includes a three-year option alongside the existing one-year and two-year plans. The monthly subscription fee is 6,900 KRW (~$5.20) for both the one-year and two-year plans. A three-year plan costs 8,900 KRW (~$6.70) per month.
Under the new structure, customers who sign up for three years can return their device at the end of the term and receive 25 percent of the phone’s original price, based on Samsung.com pricing at the time of purchase.
In comparison, customers on a one-year plan can get 50 percent of the phone’s value back when they return it, while those on a two-year plan are eligible for 40 percent. A higher rate of return on shorter systems indicates lower depreciation of the device over time.
Loss and theft protection, free repairs, and free battery replacement
Samsung has also extended the coverage under this program by including Samsung Care+ with Theft and Loss protection. This means that subscribers are eligible for compensation if their device is lost or stolen, in addition to accidental damage coverage. The plan includes maintenance benefits, battery replacement, and on-site repair support during the subscription period. Theft and loss claims are usually limited to a certain number per year and may include a deductible, depending on coverage conditions.
Even after the subscription period has ended, customers who choose to keep their device can continue to receive Samsung Care+ benefits for up to four years from the original purchase date, subject to various fees and eligibility requirements.
Additional benefits
In addition to device protection, Samsung adds financial protection. Subscribers are eligible for compensation of up to KRW 3 million in cases of online financial crimes, such as phishing, hacking, hacking, or piracy. The company also offers compensation of up to KRW 500,000 for losses caused by online market scams or online shopping fraud.
Samsung also introduced an upgrade benefit for existing members. Those who bought a Galaxy S25 series device through the New Galaxy AI Subscription Club last year can upgrade to a suitable upcoming Galaxy device (like the Galaxy S26) and get the first three months of subscription free.
In addition, they will get a free one-year Samsung Fire 365 Travel Insurance policy. With these additional benefits, Samsung positions the subscription club as a complete smartphone ownership program.
