The red ‘stabbing’ Honor Magic V6 is so thin and strong that it rewrites what device power means

What you need to know
- Honor teased its upcoming foldable Magic V6 this morning; however, it also advertised its amazing red color scheme.
- The back panel of this model offers a unique texture, which appears to be soft, almost like wispy strands of hair throughout the design.
- Honor also highlights the phone’s thin, but strong exterior, as the durability challenge puts the device as a “backbone” of a zipline to carry an adult.
- The Magic V6 and more will debut at MWC 2026 on March 1.
Are you looking forward to the upcoming Honor book style? The company teased its upcoming launch yesterday, but now it’s teasing its big update.
Honor revealed more details about the upcoming foldable Magic V6 on Android Central in a press release this morning (Feb 24). According to Honor, the Magic V6 is on the way with a striking red color scheme and a modified back panel with a different texture. Although the company did not say that this texture feels like, on a visual level, it seems light and subtle, almost like soft hair.
This strong, passionate red color isn’t the only time Honor is preparing the Magic V6, as the post shares a laser-like focus on durability. Honor highlights that the Magic V6 is “the only folding device to date” with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. In addition, the brand has implemented “Advanced Display Protection” in its upcoming model.
Honor says this protection delivers an “industry-leading 1.5% display level, high wear resistance, and a reinforced inner screen with UTG glass and anti-glare coatings for improved clarity and impact resistance.”
Last, but not least, Honor’s Magic V6 went through a grueling endurance challenge with Joe Weller in Thailand. Honor had Weller use the V6 as “the primary supporting mechanism” for the zipline. The purpose was to see if the power of the Magic V6 could withstand the weight of holding on to an adult while also pulling them out of space. You can watch Weller give a brief shout of joy to X while we wait for the full reveal of the challenge. Honor adds that the Magic V6 is equipped with a 2800MPa HONOR Super Steel Hinge for “structural integrity.”
Bold Magic V6 is on the way
We expect to see more from Honor about this device, but we will have to wait about a week to get it. Yesterday (Feb 23), the company teased what it will unveil at MWC 2026 and, no, it’s not a phone—it’s a robot. Honor says it plans to unveil its first humanoid robot as it enters new territory at MWC 2026. This AI-powered robot appears to have a camera on its head and an LED strip running down its chest.
The company previously teased its “Robot Phone” at CES 2025, with a curious little camera on the phone that watches the world around you. At the time, the company said it wanted to bring an “AI brain” to the device to “see” the world with us.
Apart from this, we have a red teaser of the Magic V6; however, His Excellency says there is more to come. On March 1, 2026, at 1 PM CET (7 AM ET) in Barcelona, Honor plans to unveil the Honor Magic V6, along with the MagicPad 4 and MagicBook Pro 14 at MWC 2026.
Android Central Take
The thing about the Honor Magic V5 is that the device was incredibly thin. I remember talking about it as a device that beats Samsung until the Galaxy Z Fold 7 (which it did). Now, Honor’s progress with the V6 and the device remains slim, according to its statement, but durability is another matter. Honor says it can build a smaller device without “compromising” on its durability. When we see a small phone, we just think, “well, maybe it’s not that hard.” Honor is looking to reject that and, personally, I’m willing to give them a chance to do that.
