The expanded capabilities are rolling out this week to Galaxy S26 and Pixel 10 devices, reinforcing Google’s strategy to make visual search as important as text-based queries.
Strong fraud protection for phone calls and texts
Google also improves security with improved fraud detection, powered by the Gemini model on the device. The feature, which was limited to Google’s own apps, is now coming to the Samsung Phone app on Galaxy S26 devices in the US for English-speaking users.
The system listens for suspicious chat patterns – such as urgent requests for money or impersonation tricks – and issues a warning before users become victims. Google Messages is also getting an upgrade to its detection of scam text messages, adding another layer of protection against the growing fraud attempts.
