Samsung Galaxy S26 FAQ
When is the Samsung Galaxy S26 coming out?
The entire Samsung Galaxy S26 lineup — which includes the base model S26, the more modest S26 Plus, and the more powerful Galaxy S26 Ultra — is set for a worldwide release on March 11. That means you have exactly two weeks to check out the best pre-order deals before the phones finally hit store shelves.
Which phones are included in the Galaxy S26 series?
Similar to previous Samsung flagships, the Galaxy S26 series includes the base model S26 alongside the Galaxy S26 Plus and the premium Galaxy S26 Ultra. All three phones are powered by the high-performance Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and boast beautiful Dynamic AMOLED displays, seven years of OS and security upgrades, and all the latest Galaxy AI software features.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is really the star of the show, however, coming complete with a new and improved ergonomic design, up to 16GB of RAM, and a built-in S Pen stylus. Simply put, the Ultra is shaping up to be one of the best Android phones released in 2026 – if you can afford it.
How much does the Galaxy S26 cost?
Unfortunately (but surprisingly), Samsung has decided to increase the cost of the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus by $100 each. That means that the starting price of the phones will now be $899.99 again $1,099.99respectively, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra will remain available $1,299.99 in the 256GB configuration. With prices rising this high, it’s clear that deals like pre-order opportunities are more important than ever.
I already own a Samsung phone. Should I upgrade to Galaxy S26?
This one is slow. After all, the Galaxy S25 series (released in early 2025) is still slated to get six years of OS/security upgrades, so if you own last year’s flagship, there’s little reason to upgrade unless you really want to.
If, on the other hand, you’re using a Galaxy S24 or higher, you may want to check with your wireless carrier using the deals above to see if you’re worth an upgrade when trading up.
