Here’s how Apple will show F1 across Apple TV, Apple Music and more

The Formula 1 season starts next weekend, and it marks the start of Apple’s exclusive broadcast partnership in the United States. The core of the agreement is that all races will be broadcast live (and on demand) on Apple TV, but the company is doing everything possible to increase the exposure of F1 on all its platforms.

Here’s what you can expect to see when the first race starts streaming on the Apple TV app, Apple Music, and more.

As a reminder, all Formula 1 live broadcasts will be available with an Apple TV subscription, no additional package or upsell required. You can get Apple TV for $12.99/month, or $99/year. It’s also part of the Apple One bundle, carrier deals and more.

Apple TV

Within the Apple TV app, subscribers will find a dedicated tab for Formula 1. Apple TV will broadcast all practice, qualifying sessions, sprints, and the Grand Prix on Sunday, for all 24 races of the 2026 season.

On race day, the Formula 1 tab will change with quick links to watch the stream, and easy ways to enter Multiview modes. That means if you’re a fan of one team in particular, it only takes one tap to view the opinions of both drivers in a split-screen layout. There’s also a special optional camera feed that switches to an on-board view of whatever driver is currently in first place. (Multiview is supported on Apple TV 4K, iPad and Vision Pro.)

The Home tab of the Apple TV app will also feature live race promotions in progress, and it’s just a single tap to easily switch from a preview to a full-screen live streaming experience.

Apple is also partnering with Netflix, bringing the popular documentary Drive to Survive to Apple TV subscribers for the first time.

Apple Music and Podcasts

On Apple Music, on race day, Apple Music Radio will also have free audio commentary to go along with. That means you can follow the progress of a race while driving, for example. Audio commentary of the race is available for free on the radio tab, no registration required.

There will also be a new dedicated F1 hub within Apple Music featuring collections of related music, including warm playlists selected by some of the drivers on the grid, DJ mixes, and more. The new ‘Sound of the Circuit’ lineup will feature music that matches the local culture of that weekend’s race.

Apple Podcasts will also feature an F1 hub, showcasing the most popular podcasts from the world of racing and Formula 1.

Apple News and Sports

Apple News will also have dedicated sections covering Formula 1, featuring written coverage from various publishers. This includes coverage of driver and constructor positions, driver interviews, highlights and more.

Each Grand Prix will have a dedicated page with relevant news for the weekend, as well as live scorecards. And later in the season, Apple News will feature real-time video previews of race coverage, making it easier to keep up with the action.

Apple Sports will also feature real-time leaderboards and a quick link shortcut to redirect to Apple TV for live viewing. You can also find Live Actions during races and F1 standings widget for your iPhone home screen.

Listen to everything starting next weekend. The Melbourne Grand Prix will take place on Sunday, March 7. Apple TV coverage will begin with the first practice session on Thursday night in the US, at 8:30 PM ET; and if you want a free taster, all practice sessions are broadcast to everyone, no registration is required.
