OMG: Nothing’s Phone 4a totes pink, as it will be launched in fashion and pop

What you need to know
- There is no announcement that it is bringing a pink variant of its Phone 4a series to consumers when it launches.
- The company has been spraying pink graffiti all over London to promote this addition of colour, making pop culture references wherever they can.
- The Phone 4a series will launch on March 5.
Nothing has been happening with its Phone 4a comic series, and it does that even more with its next reveal: a fun color reveal that takes London.
No details were shared about its new color towards the Phone 4a in the press release. Consumers tend to get used to the standard Nothing colors of white and black; However, the company revealed that the pink is towards the Phone 4a. According to its statement, Nothing says, “pink is not just another color. It’s a nod to technology that expresses hope, rather than neutrality. It’s a recognition of the role that art, music, fashion, and pop culture play in inspiring our design language.”
Even Lucy Birley, Nothing’s head of Color Material Finish, chimed in, saying that combining pink with the product’s transparency adds “a wonderful sense of depth.” Birley says it’s this increased depth that makes their product “look really healthy.”
It doesn’t stop there; The pink color of the Phone 4a is not so important that it was taken in London.
Nothing has been busy taking over the city with “disturbing graphics” on its product posters, nods to cultural references, music from Paris Hilton Girls, Vice City, and more. This is nothing but fueling Nothing’s hype, as the brand prepares to unveil the Phone 4a series next week on March 5.
Oh no… it’s pink
We’ve been going with the Nothing Phone 4a rumors for the past few days now, as the latest was about the Glyph Bar. We’ve seen the brand switch its Glyph Lighting system from large LEDs to smaller strips on the Phone 3a. Now, the Phone 4a will use a Glyph Bar, a set of vertical, small, controllable LEDs next to its camera. There seems to be nothing focused on using its LEDs for notifications, delivery progress, and the like.
It remains to be seen how this bar will actually work, but there is not long to wait. In addition, the Phone 4a is very similar to the Phone 3a; however, that might have been what we would have expected. Nothing’s CEO, Carl Pei, teased that the Phone 4a series will be “redesigned” and will work on its cameras, display, and performance.
Android Central Take
Nothing never stops grabbing my attention. I’m not exactly sure what it is, but I always find myself paying attention to what comes next. Whether or not I get the product is a completely different conversation. The addition of pink is a nice touch – personally, speaking. It’s a little different, and when you mix in Nothing’s transparent design, it’s a decent pair. We see the phone on offer and the real deal could look better or worse than we think. Anyway, I dig it.
