I tried the Ninja BlendBoss, and it might be the best blender for cutting frozen ingredients

A global kitchen appliances brand, Ninja has become well known for its eye-catching designs. Always one to push the boundaries, Ninja released the BlendBoss in late 2025 in the US ahead of it. launched in the UK in early 2026and became an instant sensation due to its unique Stanley-Cup inspired design.
The latest trend in the world of blenders into portable designs where you can take your blended creations with you on the go – sometimes with the full blender still stuck in the cup. The new BlendBoss blendBoss from Ninja is the perfect example of this trend, and combines fun and functionality into one kitchen appliance.
I’ve spent the last few weeks testing the Ninja BlendBoss, and found it to be one of the best blenders on the market for cutting frozen ingredients – here’s how I got on.

Ninja BlendBoss review: unboxing and setup
The Ninja BlendBoss comes with the main motor base, CrushBlade, BlendBoss Travel Tumbler, lid and straw. To start, I removed all the packaging and washed everything before I used it as it had a ‘new plastic’ smell when I opened it.
To use the Ninja BlendBoss, I filled a large bowl with ingredients before blending the CrushBlade directly into the tumbler. I then plugged it into the motor and plugged it directly into the outlet and pressed one of the control buttons.
Removing the Ninja BlendBoss after assembly is the same as fixing it to the base of the car. I’ve tried a lot of personal, portable blenders and I’m always worried that I might loosen the blade on the big blender and spill my smoothie all over the place – I’m embarrassed to say I’ve done that before! I didn’t experience that with the Ninja BlendBoss as it was easy to fix and replace the blades with the lid.

Ninja BlendBoss review: design and features
The Ninja BlendBoss has a large round base powered by a 1100W motor. The base has four control buttons – blend iQ, smoothie iQ, ice crush iQ and pulse that combines your ingredients with targeted pulses, pauses and blending patterns.
The CrushBlade is a six-point blade that turns on the tumbler and attaches to the engine. The blades are incredibly sharp – I’ve called myself a few times using it – and they cut ingredients easily and expertly.
On the side of the Travel Tumbler – the Ninja BlendBoss’ large mixing and drinking container – are measurements in milliliters and ounces. It has a large 650ml fill line but the tube itself measures 710ml. Once you’re done assembling, you can easily detach the can and blade from the base and swap it out for a leak-proof lid and straw for on-the-go drinking.
In terms of dimensions, the Ninja BlendBoss measures 32cm long, 18.3cm wide and 17.1cm wide, and weighs 2.6kg. When fully loaded, the Ninja BlendBoss is portable and easy to carry, although its handle is very prominent and cannot be removed to take up space in your bag.

Ninja BlendBoss review: performance
I found the Ninja BlendBoss very easy to assemble and use. When you turn on the Ninja BlendBoss, the buttons automatically light up and light up for you. If they don’t, that means the blender isn’t attached to the base properly, so make sure you can’t accidentally use it without everything being screwed in place.
The bottom of the Ninja BlendBoss has attachments so it sticks to your countertop and blends without the entire blender moving around. It makes a lot of noise when it’s running, but that’s to be expected with its high-speed motor and blades.
I mainly used the Ninja BlendBoss to make smoothies as I like to take smoothies to the office for breakfast. I often use frozen bananas and berries in my smoothies, and the Ninja BlendBoss whips this up without breaking a sweat.
Usually, I have to blend smoothies and frozen ingredients a few times with other blenders to get everything smooth, but the Ninja BlendBoss cut so easily and expertly with the first blender that I was impressed with. With the automatic smoothie iQ system, the Ninja BlendBoss navigated everything quickly and stirred and paused to ensure full blending.
I’ll be honest, I don’t like the Stanley Cup look so the Ninja BlendBoss is an odd design for my taste. While I like the handle and find it easy to get into mine you are bakingI found it difficult to walk, especially for those (like me) who don’t want to walk with a cup. The handle is the biggest culprit here as it sticks out and cannot be removed.
The worst thing I found with the Ninja BlendBoss is that it gets very dirty after use and is not easy to clean. After washing the Ninja BlendBoss in my dishwasher, there was still some smoothie residue in the blender crevices and blades, and there was some sludge on the handle that I couldn’t get out.

Ninja BlendBoss review: the verdict
I was impressed with the Ninja BlendBoss during my testing. While the texture isn’t really my thing, and the cleanup leaves a lot to be desired, the Ninja BlendBoss is the best blender I’ve used for chopping frozen ingredients.
The Ninja BlendBoss is my go-to for making smoothies, and it’s great for cutting through ice. Its controls are easy to use, and the entire removal process is simple – there’s very little chance you’ll spill your blends when removing the Ninja BlendBoss from its base.
Will the design be for everyone? No, but if you like to travel with drinks, the Ninja BlendBoss would be a great choice for you.
Ninja BlendBoss review: alternatives to consider
If you prefer a smaller and more convenient alternative, the Ninja Blast that’s what I would recommend. It’s more compact than the Ninja BlendBoss, and has one-touch color-coded controls for quick blending. You’ll have to go with the motor and blades attached, though, but this can help increase the freshness of your smoothies.
I Nutribullet Flip it’s another portable, personal blender. Compared to the Ninja BlendBoss, it’s cheaper at £99.99 / $99.99, and has more of a water bottle design. It may require a few more mixing cycles but it is perfect for mixing ice and is completely sealed to keep things as cold as possible.
