LG’s amazingly bright flagship OLED has dropped to its lowest price ever thanks to this rebate deal

With the LG G6 and the rest of LG’s 2026 TV range on the horizon, this means only one thing for deal hunters: saving on last year’s models.
And we’re not talking about any old model – LG’s current flagship, the LG G5, just dropped its lowest price ever. You can currently get the 65-inch wall-mounted version from Smart Home Sounds now for just £1709.
Given that we reviewed the Primary RGB Tandem OLED TV for £3299, that’s a huge saving of £1590.
There are a few caveats to reaching this price, however. First, you’ll need to add the TV to your basket and head to the checkout to see £200 off the listed price. You can then claim another £150 back as a refund from LG directly (here are the full T&C).
One of the biggest selling points of the LG G5 is that it is the first TV to feature a Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel, a technology that stacks four layers of OLED to improve contrast and color volume.
The results spoke for themselves. Put aside the standard OLED, and it’s surprising how bright the G5 is – until we have to shield our eyes during certain high-light moments. Views of Pan and showcase the G5’s color capacity with stunning color graduations, while Top shot: Maverick saw the TV flex its motion-processing muscles, refusing to stutter or judge.
The LG G5 is also one of the best TVs on the market for gamers, with an excellent all-in-one feature set. Four HDMI 2.1 sockets? Check it out. ALLM? Check it out. VRR? Dolby Vision playback mode? Check and check. The refresh rate goes up to 4K/165Hz if you have a powerful enough PC to go that high.
All the necessary apps are there and ready for WebOS – Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, BBC iPlayer, ITV X and Channel 4 are some of the services available, with game streaming also possible via the Xbox app.
The G5 comes with a number of sound options, with the Cinema preset being our choice due to its wider, louder and punchier sound than the Standard setting. Overall, although the sound performance will be sufficient for everyday use, it doesn’t really do the movies justice – we’d recommend a sound bar or speaker system for an experience similar to its excellent picture quality.
At full price, we tend to recommend the Sony Bravia 8 II instead, which has impressive built-in audio and refined image processing. The Bravia 8 II currently retails for over £300 more at £2099, so at these prices we’d have no problem recommending the G5, especially given its sporting features and brilliant brightness.
All in all, the LG G5 is a leap forward in OLED production and an amazing set. As our LG G5 review reads: “It ticks every box we want in a five-star TV and represents the biggest leap in OLED picture quality since the technology first emerged.”
