Motorola Razr Fold Debuts at MWC 2026 with 50MP Triple Camera and Huge 6,000mAh Battery in a Small Body.

We started to see The Razr Fold of CESbut at MWC, Motorola shared the full specifications and feature set of its first book-style foldable. The device is amazing and compatible directly with Honor Magic V6 was introduced yesterday once Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Instead of chasing the absolute thinnest profile, Motorola prioritizes two things: camera hardware and battery capacity.
Slim Chassis Fits Big Battery
Razr Fold measurements 4.6mm open and 9.9mm closedweight about 244g. That makes it slightly thicker than the Honor Magic V6, which comes in all around 4.4mm open and less than 9mm closedbut it’s comfortably thinner than Samsung’s Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, which sits approx 5.5mm open and about 12mm closed. These dimensions do not include the thickness of the camera module
To be honest, I find Samsung’s design to be balanced and visually refined, mainly because the camera module comes out from under the Razr Fold. I think Motorola had to trade off the beauty for an ambitious camera system.
Motorola comes with a chassis with 8.1-inch 2K LTPO internal display (2484 × 2232, 120Hz, 6200 nits peak) and 6.6 inch outdoor poLED panel (2520 × 1080, 165Hz, 6000 nits peak). Both support HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 10-bit color.
Motorola is equivalent to a 6000mAh packunusually large for this class. Honorable, well-spoken, and made the battery the top feature yesterday. As we reported in our Magic V6 coverage, Honor has packed a a large 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery in the Magic V6 ultrathin chassis. Motorola’s approach is extremely small in capacity, but still among the largest in the segment.
Charging is equally aggressive: 80W wired, 50W wireless, and 5W reverse charging.

The Best Camera System in a Large Fold
The star of Moto’s show is the powerful camera system, which is worthy of recognition at a time when OEMs are often scaling back camera hardware to eliminate the cost of large dual displays that significantly increase the cost of goods.
Here’s the full camera stack:
Rear Cameras
- 50MP main (Sony LYTIA 828, f/1.6, OIS)
- 50MP periscope telephoto (3x optical zoom, OIS, up to 100x AI zoom)
- 50MP ultrawide (122° field of view, large support)
Display camera cover
Internal display camera
- 20MP (Quad Pixel, f/2.4)

Video capture supports up to 8K at 30fps, with Dolby Vision recording.
Unlike most folders that include top and middle sensors, Motorola uses 50MP at all three rear focal lengths. That rating is rare in this segment.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 is still combining resolutions across its camera modules, and while Samsung’s processing pipeline is mature, the hardware stack doesn’t look uniform on paper. Honor’s Magic V6 focuses on thinness and battery innovation, but its camera setup is less aggressive at all focal lengths than Motorola’s triple-50MP setup.
Devotees 3x periscope module is especially important. Telephoto is often where folding is at risk due to space constraints. It seems that Motorola decided not to.
Motorola has achieved ia DXOMARK gold label by system – it’s not a guarantee of real-world superiority, but it does show that the hardware is being taken seriously in lab testing.
Within the large format folding category, these are arguably the most balanced compact cameras available.
Working and Living Longer
The Razr Fold works on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5paired with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB storage. Motorola promises seven Android OS upgrades and seven years of security updatesputs you in line with the industry’s longest support commitments.
There is also support for Moto Pen Ultra (sold separately), adds stylus functionality for note-taking and creative work – a feature traditionally associated with the Samsung Fold line.
Price and availability
Motorola has confirmed European pricing for the €1,999puts you squarely in the fold of the flagship. Availability in Europe begins in the coming weeks, with North America and other regions to follow.
The conclusion
Honor pushes the limits of thinness and battery density. Samsung relies on ecosystem maturity, enterprise security, and multi-tasking polish. Motorola is betting that solid camera hardware and a large battery inside a sturdy chassis it’s a formula that will win consumers over.
The Razr Fold is one of the biggest and most complete folders I’ve seen this year.
