Lenovo Legion Go Fold Concept Brings a Foldable Display to Handheld PC Gaming

In MWC 2026, Lenovo showed off several test devices that test the features of the new form factor, including Legion Go Fold the Minda prototype that reimagines what a handheld game console could look like. Designed as an evolution of the Legion Go platform, the concept comes together foldable display technology with removable controlsaimed at creating a more flexible gaming device for gamers who want a console-style experience on the go.
Lenovo’s approach focuses on versatility: the device includes a POLED display expandable from 7.7 inches to 11.6 inchesallowing it to act as both a standard handheld and a large portable gaming screen when turned on.
When folded, the device behaves like a regular handheld console with controls attached to each side of the 7.7-inch display. However, the foldable screen opens up more ways to use it than just handheld games.
Lenovo designed the concept around it four main modes of operation:
- Standard Mobile Mode: The compact 7.7-inch display with attached controls provides a familiar handheld experience when space is limited.
- Vertical Split-Screen Mode: The foldable display can be opened vertically, allowing players to play on one side of the screen while streaming, browsing guides, or watching streaming videos on the other.
- Horizon full screen mode: Rotating the unlocked screen and reconfiguring the controls fully enables gaming 11.6-inch displaycreates a very large mobile gaming canvas.
- Extended Desktop Mode: The concept can also function as a portable PC by pairing the device with wireless keyboard with integrated touchpadallowing users to play, browse, or work.

Under the hood, the Legion Go Fold Concept is powered by Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor paired with 32GB of RAM and a 48Wh batteryit provides enough performance to run demanding PC titles while also handling multitasking situations like streaming or browsing alongside gaming.
The controllers also introduce some unusual features. Like the latest Legion Go devices, the the right controller can act as a vertical mouse with FPS style control schemes. It also includes a a small built-in display that serves as a touchpad, performance monitor, and customizable shortcutprovides quick access to settings without interfering with gameplay.
