Let’s start with the big stuff: price and key specs.
MacBook Neo it’s a 13-inch laptop that is expensive $599 for 256GB storage again 8GB RAM. It runs on a version of Apple’s A18 Pro chip that was first introduced in the iPhone 16 Pro.
An extra $100 doubles the storage to 512GB and adds a Touch ID fingerprint sensor to the keyboard, but memory is limited to just 8GB of RAM.
MacBook Air it’s a 13.6-inch laptop that is expensive $1099 for 512GB storage again 16GB RAM. It runs on the latest Apple M5 chip used in the latest iPad Pro and 14-inch MacBook Pro.
MacBook Air storage upgrades include 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB options. The RAM can be configured to 24GB or 32GB. Every MacBook Air comes with Touch ID.

Battery life + charging method
Battery life and how to charge it is different between MacBook Neo and MacBook Air.
The MacBook Neo advertises up to 11 hours of wireless web browsing and until 16 hours of video streaming per charge. It features a 36.5-watt-hour lithium-ion battery.
MacBook Air promises to arrive 15 hours of wireless web browsing and until 18 hours of video streaming per charge. It uses a lithium ion battery for 53.8 hours.
In fact, the MacBook Air will outperform the MacBook Neo on a single charge. Real world results based on mixed use will vary.
MacBook Neo includes a 20W USB-C power adapter again USB-C charging cable (1.5 meter) in the box. It charges via USB-C and doesn’t have MagSafe.
