Formula 1 2026 Season Starts This Weekend Exclusively on Apple TV in the US


The 2026 Formula 1 season starts this weekend, and US viewers will see a big change in the way they watch the sport. Apple TV now serves as the exclusive broadcast home of Formula 1 in the United States, bringing the entire race weekend to the Apple TV app.

This means Apple TV and Apple One subscribers can watch the entire season in one place. Coverage includes practice sessions, qualifying rounds, Sprint races, and every Grand Prix. The season opens with FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2026airs Saturday, March 7 at 8 pm PT.

Apple confirmed the new partnership in a press release announcing the launch of the 2026 season on Apple TV. The company said the move introduces a new viewing experience for Formula 1 fans in the US

Formula 1 president and CEO Stefano Domenicali also welcomed the partnership and highlighted the continued growth of the sport in the United States.

“As we begin this exciting chapter of our sport with new teams, cars, engines and drivers, the time is right to welcome Apple as our broadcaster in the United States.”

Formula 1 on Apple TV

Subscribers can stream Formula 1 directly through the Apple TV app across multiple devices. The service works on Apple devices and several third-party platforms, so fans don’t need to own Apple hardware to watch the races.

Supported devices include:

  • Mac computers
  • Apple TV 4K
  • Apple Vision Pro
  • Smart TVs from Samsung, LG, Sony, TCL, and others
  • Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices
  • PlayStation and Xbox consoles

The first race weekend begins with the Australian Grand Prix, and each session will be streamed live and always available on demand thereafter.

Apple says the stream aims to provide a more immersive Formula 1 viewing experience with several new features.

  • 4K resolution with Dolby Visionthe first for a Formula 1 broadcast
  • 5.1 surround sound during the races
  • English and Spanish analysis options
  • Up to 30 more live feeds with telemetry, driver tracking, and interior cameras
  • Multiview support that allows fans to watch four live feeds simultaneously
  • Sky Sports broadcasts are available as another viewing option

Multiview works on supported devices like Apple TV 4K, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro. Fans can choose from preset programs or customize their own mix of live feeds to follow specific drivers, teams, or telemetry data during a race.

Apple TV subscribers in the US also get F1 TV Premium at no extra cost, including additional coverage of motorsport such as Formula 2, Formula 3, F1 Academy, and Porsche Supercup events.

As the new season kicks off this weekend, Apple TV now serves as the central hub for Formula 1 in the United States, offering full race coverage as well as analysis, replays, and select programming throughout the season.
