This Icelandic outdoor clothing brand just made Arc’teryx look a little cooler

If you take a closer look at premium outerwear, you’ll know that Arc’teryx has become the unofficial benchmark for ultra-minimalist design-led outerwear.
But another Nordic brand is growing in power, and its latest collaboration may turn a few heads.
Icelandic outerwear specialist 66°North has announced a limited-edition capsule collection with Grammy-winning Icelandic singer Laufey, combining technical outerwear with the singer’s soft, feminine aesthetic.
The soft side of technical outerwear
Laufey worked closely with the brand throughout the design process, alongside her twin sister Junia and the 66°North creative team.
The team found inspiration in children’s photos, Iceland’s stunning landscape and the brand’s century-old archive.

The range includes the Long Shell Coat, a three-layer waterproof technical coat with an adjustable waist belt, large flat pockets and snap closures.
It comes in black or stone colors with a contrasting navy texture and features a packable Polartec NeoShell hood designed to handle wet conditions.
Elsewhere in the collection is a 10,000mm waterproof Shell Bag, a graphic T-shirt featuring a travel-inspired watch image, and two knit pieces: a brushed Icelandic wool cardigan produced in the brand’s Reykjavík knitting factory and a matching knit bonnet.
Built for the weather, made to last
Founded in 1926 to create protective clothing for Icelandic fishermen, the company built its reputation on clothing that can withstand the notoriously unforgiving weather.

The same heritage also informs the brand’s sustainable approach, with 66°North operating as a certified B Corp and neutral company that prioritizes sustainability and sustainability over fast-moving fashion cycles.
The emphasis on durable clothing and repairability reflects a growing shift throughout the outdoor industry, where products are increasingly expected to balance performance with environmental responsibility.
A century worth celebrating
The collaboration comes at a symbolic time for the Icelandic label. The year 2026 marks 66°North’s 100th anniversary, and the company plans to celebrate the milestone with a series of collaborations, campaigns and global activations throughout the year.
The 66°North x Laufey capsule collection launches on 10 March 2026, where it will be available online worldwide and in stores in Iceland, London and Copenhagen.
Prices start at £85 (~$114 / €98 / AU$162) for the Graphic T-Shirt, rising to £415 (~$554 / €479 / AU$791) for the Long Shell Coat.
