REDMAGIC recently teased another small gaming tablet that I got excited about

What you need to know
- Redmagic first teased on Weibo that it has another gaming tablet on the way.
- The company’s brief teaser shows the device integrated into a robot hand, saying it will be called the “Gaming Tablet 5 Pro,” “coming soon.”
- The latest tablet was the Redmagic Astra, a tablet with a 9-inch display, a refresh rate of 165Hz, and all the power to ensure that games remain smooth and dynamic.
Redmagic is teasing a new product during the whole MWC 2026 reveal that is getting some public time on social media.
The Chinese OEM started teasing what appears to be a new gaming tablet on its Weibo page this week (via Android Headlines). Redmagic’s teaser is very simple; However, what shows the tablet in the carbon fiber hands (see it?) is a robotic hand. It’s always hard to tell from pictures like this, but the device looks pretty well put together regardless of what’s on offer.
Redmagic says the “Gaming Tablet 5 Pro” is “coming soon.” This is what all users were able to find in Redmagic’s MWC 2026 teaser. That and the company telling users to “stay tuned” for more updates. We are not entirely sure about it when the device can boot, but more on that soon. The publication offered some ideas, as it suggests that the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro could feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC.
In order to stay “compact,” there is a possibility that Redmagic can keep this tablet closer to the range of nine to 10 inches, similar to its two previous generations.
Next generation games are on the way
Regarding the time limit, we strength look out for the summer launch of this next Redmagic tablet. Looking back at the Redmagic Astra, that tablet first appeared in China in June, before regions around the world got hold of it the following month. If the company is teasing a model now (it’s March), we’re probably looking at a similar timeline. Redmagic can always throw us a curveball and drop it soon (here’s hoping).
The Redmagic Astra has been released with a 9.06-inch OLED display for $499. Its base model starts at 12GB, but its internal storage can go up to 1TB (at $849, too). The design is very much in line with the brand’s gaming phones, with cool LED lights on its back panel and the stunning design you’d expect from a gaming PC. At 165Hz, the Astra remained smooth while playing. The Nova gaming tablet was released one year earlier with a 10.9-inch display, so Redmagic went back and made things even more compact.
Android Central Take
Redmagic produces some solid sports oriented devices. From its phones to its tablets, these models truly understand what it takes to have a smooth, powerful mobile gaming experience. These are the phones and tablets that often make me think about switching. Redmagic often relies on Qualcomm’s solid silicon to handle its games, which are efficient. In addition, the cost is reasonable in the end. We’ll have to wait and see if that continues with this next iteration.
