Soon! This five-star Samsung OLED TV has dropped to its lowest price yet – but stocks are running out

The mantra “bigger is better” is often used in the TV market; but that risks missing out on some excellent deals at the more subdued end of the spectrum.

For example: the 48-inch Samsung S90F is a perfect fit for a small living room, bedroom or second bedroom.

And now it’s available for even less than it was on Black Friday: £788 on Amazon as part of its Spring Deal Days sale.

That’s the lowest price we’ve seen for the 48-inch Samsung S90F, and frankly, it’s a lot of money for an OLED of this size.

We don’t expect the S90F to be much cheaper than this, and with the next generation of Samsung TVs coming soon, this could be the cheapest you’ll get for a current Samsung OLED for some time.

The five-star Samsung S90F is an excellent TV for those short on space.

It’s also worth noting how easy it is to set up the S90F – a simple thing that can be taken for granted. The central foot stand connects easily to the screen, all without screws, thanks to the smart design.

This means it will take a few minutes before you get a picture of the S90F, which we were very impressed with during the picture test. Civil War.

“Explosion emerges from the dark city with brilliant light and vivid fiery color, bringing them to life,” reads our review of the Samsung S90F.

“The S90F is also able to maintain color volume during a tricky scene, characters’ faces retain their warmth and provide strong levels of detail in both the darkest and lightest parts of the image – impressive as most OLEDs can struggle here.”

Testing with SDR Blu-ray also showed the S90F to have one of the sharpest images we’ve seen in a while. There is a wonderful sense of depth and sharp detail without the image looking artificial.

We did experience a bit of color exaggeration, but there is a simple solution to combat this: we recommend switching to Filmmaker mode, with the color booster turned off and the color profile set to Warm.

The gaming features are also surprisingly comprehensive. There are four full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 sockets with VRR and ALLM support. The S90F goes beyond the latest gaming consoles’ 4K/120Hz all the way to 4K/144Hz – so it’s a great choice for those with powerful gaming PCs.

The built-in 2.1.2-channel Dolby Atmos sound lacks greatness, it has to be said, and our testers found the sound to be a “mixed bag”. This, however, is unusual for TVs of this size.

We normally recommend the LG C5 and Panasonic Z90B for this screen size, but at the time of writing, they retail for £899 and £1099 respectively. On a performance-per-pound metric, the S90F offers the best value for money right now.

The Samsung S90F is an excellent small OLED TV, offering a bright, sharp picture and flawless gaming features. And this offer – £712 off Amazon – is an incredible deal for such a good OLED.
