The Samsung Galaxy Watch8 Classic has been reduced to its lowest price so far in the Amazon Spring sale

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch8 Classic is one of the more tempting-looking smartwatch deals in Amazon’s Spring Deal Days sale, but for Samsung phone owners, it’s probably the best we’ve seen this week.

In fact, it’s been reduced to its lowest price ever on Amazon – down to £299 from an average price over the past 180 days of £396. It’s a chunky, attractive looking smartwatch that looks great and is packed with advanced features.

One of my favorite features of the Galaxy Watch8 Classic is its rotating bezel, which is used to navigate around the watch face, instead of the rotating crown you find on most high-end smartwatches.

It is full of health and fitness features, including Samsung’s new AGE rating (short for Advanced Glycation End), which should indicate your metabolic health and aging, as well as Antioxidant results, which look at the evidence of carotenoids in your blood.

It’s also equipped with dual-band GPS, so its measurements of your speed, distance and location should always be accurate, even if you’re surrounded by tall buildings.

I also appreciate that the watch is water resistant to 50 meters, and is covered with a sapphire crystal glass. It’s as tough as they come and should keep its good looks for a long time to come.

Finally, since it is an Android Wear watch, you can install additional applications from the Google Play Store, if you have additional needs.

Like most big brand smartwatches, battery life on the Watch8 Classic isn’t great. With an always-on, on-screen display showing the time, our reviewer Andrew Williams found that he was using about 60% of the battery every day, so you’ll struggle to make it last two full days without charging.

The design of the band, which is not very stretchy, and the weight of the watch also meant that heart rate monitoring was less reliable. Replacing the standard strap with a nylon hook and loop should improve the situation, however, and should prevent the watch from moving around on your wrist.

The Watch8 Classic was launched last July, so it hasn’t had much time for the price to drop. This price of £299 is the lowest price we’ve seen since then.

However, we saw it drop to £312 around Black Friday and £349 over Christmas, so this is unlikely to be the last time we see a discount on this wearable.

At sales times like these, we put the entire Expert Review team to work looking for the best deals so you don’t have to. If you want to find out more, there is a full description of our methods on this dedicated article.
