ASUS Zenbook A14 (2025) deal: Save $300 at Best Buy

It took a while for retailers to react to Apple dominating the laptop space with the announcement of the MacBook Neo. Shortly after the announcement, I asked (and answered) why the best deals on Windows laptops were on hold for a while. Since then, retailers have released some great deals. The ASUS Zenbook A14 at $699.99 stands out even among discounted PCs from HP, Lenovo, and other OEMs.

Thin, clear, and stunning, the Zenbook A14 packs tons of ports and a battery that “just refuses to die.” A $300 off Zenbook A14 lowered the price of what was already one of the best Windows laptops.

I understand that I am fair in my praise of the Zenbook A14, but it is 100 percent correct. The laptop won a “Best of CES 2025” award from us, made our Editor-in-Chief fall in love, and earned a 4.5/5 in our Zenbook A14 review. That was all before the laptop comes down in price.

So, what makes the Zenbook A14 one of the best Windows laptops?

The Zenbook A14 is light but strong, thin but packed with ports, and fast but capable of over 12 hours of battery life.

A large, 70Whr battery combines with the Snapdragon X Plus to deliver all-day battery life. Windows Battery Report shows the Zenbook A14 can get 12 hours of real screen use.

One of the best things about a laptop is that it works well when plugged in or off battery. Most laptops slow down and sink in performance when unplugged, but that’s not the case here.

“I tested the Zenbook A14 with the charger on and off at the same settings, and saw a 0.7% drop in CPU performance and a 1% drop in GPU performance,” said Zachary Boddy in our review.

The Snapdragon X Plus chip inside the laptop is good for performance, but it can run into some compatibility issues. It’s worth double-checking that the applications you need run on Windows on Arm. Works on Windows on Arm is an excellent site to verify compatibility.

The laptop’s display is OLED, delivering deep blacks and vibrant colors. The 14-inch screen is FHD and 60Hz, which is good for producing and enjoying media but not as smoothly as 120Hz panels.

The Zenbook A14 is a light laptop, coming in at less than 1 kilogram, but it feels incredibly sturdy. Its secret is Ceraluminum, a fancy name from ASUS for magnesium alloy. The material is 30% lighter and 300% stronger than the average laptop aluminum. A durable ceramic coating envelops the laptop for added protection.

Is it fair to compare MacBook Neo with discounted Windows laptops?

The answer to this question depends on who you are.

If you’re a journalist arguing that the MacBook Neo is a “Windows killer,” I think it’s unfair to compare the retail price to the retail price. You need to make the same comparisons when evaluating things at the industry level.

But if you’re a laptop buyer, retail price isn’t that important, at least not directly. You want a laptop with the right specs at the right price (or at least a price within your budget).

Big discount it can be show value, but you still need to check the specification sheet and updates. I’ve seen many sales over the years that have “saved hundreds” on a PC that I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Fortunately, the current Zenbook A14 deal is really good. For $699.99 ($300 off), you get one of the best Windows laptops around. It also has 16GB of RAM, which is more than Apple will give you in a MacBook Neo no matter how much you pay.
