How-To & Tips

How to turn off all call tracking features on iPhone in iOS 26

Find out how to disable native and third-party call monitoring features on your iPhone to make sure no incoming calls (including robo, unknown, and spam calls) are flagged or blocked by the system. This way, you will get all the calls made to your number.

iPhone can automatically mute unknown calls and mute/block spam calls to reduce distractions. But if this leads to you missing important calls that the system incorrectly flags, turning off these features can help.

Your iPhone can automatically:

  • Mute all calls from people whose numbers are not saved in your phone and with whom you have not communicated via messages or email. This means you can’t miss calls from delivery people and the like.
  • Take calls from strangers on your behalf and ask the caller why they are calling. If it is important, you will be prompted to continue the call.

Many people swear by these features, but if you miss important calls, turn them off by following these steps:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap Applications from the bottom of the list.
  3. Select The phone.
  4. Scroll down to Screen Unknown Callers part and touch Never.
  5. While you’re here, turn off the switch Unknown Callers of Phone Filtering part.

Turn off call blocking apps

You can use your carrier’s app or a third-party call identification and blocking app like Truecaller and the excellent Simple Call Blocker to identify potential spam callers and block them automatically. Or you can decline the call after seeing the ‘spam’ label on the call screen.

But if you find that incoming calls often hang up within a second, or you don’t see their warning and find them red in your recent calls list, follow these steps.

  1. Go to iPhone Settings > Applications and select The phone.
  2. Tap Call Blocking & Identification.
  3. Turn off the switches for third-party apps you see here.

Manage call settings at carrier level

If you’re missing a lot of calls, talk to your carrier’s support or install their app, and check if you have DND (Do Not Disturb) or another call blocking feature enabled on your account.

Note: Some carriers have automatic spam detection running in the background (you don’t need to use their app or anything). When a mobile carrier receives a call or text that is malicious or spam, it flags it as such without blocking it from accessing your phone.

Turn off FaceTime’s spam feature

Like the Phone app, FaceTime also has a few of the same options we talked about above. If you miss FaceTime audio or video calls, switch to iPhone Settings > Applications > FaceTime and turn off Silence Unknown Callers again FaceTime spam.

Some tips to keep in mind

The above tips are enough to disable all call tracking features on your iPhone. Additionally, review these tips to ensure you don’t miss calls from certain people.

Check your blocked list: If you are not receiving calls from someone, check if you blocked their number by mistake.

Turn on Call Waiting: This ensures that you can receive a new call even if you are already on the phone.

Make sure call forwarding is turned off: If you are not receiving any phone calls from your number, check if you have forwarded calls to another number and disable it if it works.

Add additional phone numbers and email addresses for FaceTime: In the event that a distant family member, friend, or coworker can’t FaceTime you, they may have your number or email address that you haven’t added to FaceTime. Check where you can be reached via FaceTime and add additional accounts if needed.
