Aqara Thermostat Hub W200 is released with Apple Adaptive Temperature Control

Published:

Aqara has officially launched the Thermostat Hub W200, its first thermostat designed for the North American market. First unveiled at CES 2026, the W200 positions itself as more than just a thermostat, combining climate control, smart home automation, and energy efficiency into one device. The thermostat supports Apple Home Apple Home and Adaptive Temperature Controllers

Features

The Thermostat Hub W200 is designed as a smart home controllerintegrating climate management, automation, and spatial awareness. At its core, the W200 presents a high level existence based on intelligence using an integrated mmWave radar sensor. This allows it to detect not just motion, but real presence like the FP300, meaning it can respond even if someone is sitting still. A thermostat can automatically adjust temperatures based on location, helping to balance comfort and efficiency without manual input.

It also works as a a smart home central controller. The built-in 4-inch touchscreen serves as a control panel for Aqara’s extensive ecosystem, including security devices. When paired with Aqara doorbells and smart keys, users can view doorbell snapshots and unlock doors directly from the screen.

Apart from this, the W200 supports location-based climate control when paired with additional sensors such as the Climate Sensor W100 or the Presence Sensor FP300. This allows temperature adjustments to be prioritized in specific rooms, delivering a more tailored and responsive environment than a conventional single-point thermostat.

Apple Home and Adaptive Temperature

The thermostat is among the first to be supported Adaptive Temperature again Clean Energy Guidance on Apple Home. These features allow the system to intelligently adjust heating and cooling based on user behavior and energy conditions. Adaptive Temperature uses signals from devices like the iPhone, Apple Watch, HomePod, and Apple TV to determine whether users are home, asleep, or away. The system then automatically adjusts the indoor climate to match those patterns.

The Clean Energy Directive takes this a step further by synchronizing heating and cooling as well moments of clean energy in the local grid. By making small, smart changes, the system can reduce environmental impact while maintaining comfort.

The W200 also supports it Importantwhich enables interoperability across multiple platforms including Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, Home Assistant, and Homey. This ensures that families using different ecosystems can still easily interact with the device.

Communication and compatibility

Features of Aqara Thermostat Hub W200 Dual band Wi Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz)ensuring stable performance even in congested network environments.

Built with Thread and Zigbee support, the W200 acts as a Matter hub capable of managing more than 50 device types from both Aqara and third-party Matter-enabled manufacturers.

From an installation perspective, it’s built HVAC Systems of North Americasupporting a wide range including furnaces, heat pumps, boilers, and PTAC units. However, a C cable is required for some installations, with an adapter sold separately.

Availability and Pricing

The Aqara Thermostat Hub W200 is available now in North America, with a price tag $159.99with a separate C cable adapter available $29.99. It is sold through Aqara’s website, Amazon, Best Buy, Home Depot, and other retail channels.
