iPhone 18 Pro Launches Later This Year With These 12 New Features
While the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max aren’t expected to launch for another five months, there are already plenty of rumors about the devices, so be sure to check out our updated recap that reveals everything we’ve heard.
It was first reported that the iPhone 18 Pro models will have Face ID under the screen, with only the front camera visible in the upper left corner of the screen. However, recent rumors indicate that only one part of Face ID will be moved below the screen on the devices, which will result in just a small Dynamic Island.
Apple is reportedly facing a ‘Major Problem’ with the MacBook Neo
The new MacBook Neo has been such a success that Apple is facing “a major crisis,” according to a former Taiwanese tech writer. Bloomberg reporter Tim Culpan.
The A18 Pro chip in the MacBook Neo has a 5-core GPU and is a “hardened” version of the A18 Pro with a 6-core GPU used in the iPhone 16 Pro. Chips found to have a faulty GPU core in the production process can usually be discarded, but by binding Apple is able to use some of these chips in other devices such as the MacBook Neo. But with the MacBook Neo proving so popular, Apple is quickly running out of A18 Pro chips with a 5-core GPU.
In order to meet demand, Apple may face having to deliberately disable the core on the fully functional A18 Pro chips to save data on the machine, impacting profit margins.
The company may already be stockpiling the integrated A19 Pro chips from this year’s Pro iPhone models for use in the updated MacBook Neo due next year. The iPhone Air already uses integrated A19 Pro chips with a 5-core GPU, but they haven’t been selling well so there may still be significant numbers of those chips available in next year’s MacBook Neo.

Apple CarPlay Just Got Three Popular iPhone Apps
Apple’s CarPlay program for accessing iPhone applications on the car’s dashboard screen received three popular applications last week: ChatGPT, Google Meet, and Audiomack.
In addition, WhatsApp has released an improved CarPlay application that enhances the basic Siri-based functionality previously available, providing full access to recent conversations and call history, favorite contacts, and more.
iOS 26.4.1 Includes These Two Changes for iPhones
After seeing signs of it in our review of the site earlier this week, Apple released iOS and iPadOS 26.4.1 on Wednesday. The update includes fixes for an iOS 26.4 bug affecting iCloud syncing, and automatically turns on Stolen Device Protection for more users.
Apple followed that up with a macOS 26.4.1 update on Thursday that includes a fix for a Wi-Fi problem on the new M5 MacBook Air and M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models.
Leaker: Foldable iPhone Won’t Be Called iPhone Fold, But ‘iPhone Ultra’
The Apple rumor mill has been calling Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone the iPhone Fold, but another popular leaker says it will come under the name “iPhone Ultra”.
This week we also saw our first look at high-quality units of the iPhone Fold or Ultra amid mixed rumors about when the device might actually be available. The latest name to appear BloombergMark Gurman that it should be launched alongside or shortly after the iPhone 18 Pro models, although the supply may be tight at first as Apple solves production problems.
Expect the price to be around $2,000 or more depending on storage capacity.
