AGM Legion Pro: One minute review
The AGM Legion Pro is a budget-friendly, rugged outdoor smartwatch that competes with more expensive, adventure-oriented rivals like those from Garmin or Suunto. It aims to do this by offering specs typically found in high-end models, including military-grade durability, an aluminum frame, and a Gorilla Glass-protected 1.43-inch AMOLED display.
Health tracking similarly lacks the penalty of its competitors. Physical sensors are reliable in resting heart rate accuracy, but they cannot maintain the same level of accuracy during vigorous exercise, often showing a noticeable delay in capturing the maximum heart rate.
On a positive note, Legion Pro’s physical fitness is excellent; it was able to be submerged in water without any performance issues and showed no damage from weeks of heavy use, confirming its ability to outperform many other budget-class alternatives.
One of the most compelling features of the Legion Pro is battery life. The 370 mAh cell provides outstanding endurance, lasting around 14 days with normal use and down to a better 10 days with heavy use including standard GPS tracking and Bluetooth calling.
The AGM Legion Pro is unlikely to be considered for our guide to the best smartwatches but it might make it onto our list of cheap smartwatches, if only because of its solid durability.

At $99 / £99.98 / AU$149.99, the AGM Legion Pro is at the more affordable end of the smartwatch spectrum. Its main competitors are other budget-friendly and mid-range smartwatches, usually focusing on durability or durability, such as the Amazfit T-Rex series. For the money, AGM throws in both black and orange bands, which is a nice touch.

The AGM Legion Pro is a rugged outdoor smartwatch with a focus on durability. With an aluminum frame and a strong plastic base, not only is the overall weight kept to a minimum, but it is also strong enough to withstand the inevitable knocks that come from practice and testing.
Its rugged beauty is supported by meeting the MIL-STD-810H military standard for extreme conditions and its water resistance rating of 5ATM, making it suitable for swimming and water sports up to 50 meters. It is shockproof, dropproof, and highly resistant to dust and water.
Moving on to the display, AGM has opted for a vibrant 1.43-inch AMOLED display that offers high levels of clarity and contrast while delivering excellent visibility. I was also impressed by its 600 brightness, which meant I had problems viewing the display, even in direct sunlight. The Apple Watch SE 3 offers 1,000 nits of brightness as a comparison, but it’s also more than twice the price of this watch. To protect the display and cement its rugged nature, the Legion Pro’s screen is protected by ultra-durable Gorilla Glass, ensuring it can withstand scratches and impact.
The Legion Pro has two visible buttons, one of which is a programmable ‘hot key’ for quick access to a favorite function, just like the best Garmin watches. This adds a layer of ease when you’re wearing gloves or when the touchscreen might get wet. The rotating crown button is easy to use and moves through the menus at a predictable speed.
There are two strap options in each box, with the neon orange option being my favorite. The silicone is great for flexibility and sweat resistance, but I found the strap and hole to be a problem. In my experience, the silicone was too stiff to create a comfortable fit.

The Legion Pro is a truly rugged smartwatch with rugged durability that gives users the confidence that it can handle adventures where other watches might fail. To test its rugged credentials, I submerged it in water and was pleased that I encountered no performance issues as a result. I’ve had no issues with screen or case damage despite using the watch for a few weeks and being far from careful about knocking it over.
To go along with its outdoor specs, the watch includes built-in GPS and offline maps. The combination makes it the perfect solution for accurate location and route tracking, especially if you don’t have access to an internet connection. There is also an integrated barometer, altimeter, and compass that enables users to find their exact location without a signal. I comment on its accuracy in detail in the Performance section.
The AGM Legion Pro has all the health and activity tracking features you would expect from a smartphone of this price. These include heart rate and sleep monitoring as well as dedicated swimming and golf modes. In fact, there are over 100 trackable jobs, which will be more than enough for most people.

I don’t know what to expect when I get AGM Legion Pro. I had already done my research and couldn’t reconcile a low price tag with an impressive set of features. But after just a little testing, it quickly became clear that this is a smartwatch that aims for the moon while lacking a finesse to boot.
Take GPS, for example. This proved to be as accurate as the Suunto Race S with only a small margin of error over long distances, but unfortunately the experience of starting operations was a test of patience. Annoyingly, you can only have up to ten items on the watch list at any given time, which isn’t great for anyone participating in a variety of exercise sets. But perhaps most frustrating was the delay it took to get a GPS signal, sometimes taking up to 10 minutes before it turned off. Clear trade-offs: amazing price effects once they get going, but a real hurdle to get out of the starting gate.
The story continues when it comes to health metrics. Comparing it to the trusty Huawei Watch Ultimate 2, I found no problems with resting heart rate accuracy. Unfortunately, its optical sensors could not maintain the same accuracy during high-intensity exercise. The feeling of my heart beating in my chest was usually picked up by the device after a short delay. I know it’s not a smartwatch for serious runners, but the lack of real-time accuracy is a little disappointing.
In terms of battery performance, the 370 mAh battery of the AGM Legion Pro lasted about 2 weeks with normal usage. The testing period included regular health tracking, daily activity tracking, and smart feature usage, including reading and responding to notifications. I found that battery life dropped to close to 10 days when I used GPS tracking and Bluetooth calling regularly. No surprises there.
I was able to charge the smartwatch from empty to 50% in just 30 minutes, with a full charge taking 75 minutes. This was at a 1W charging speed, which was the limit I was able to achieve using the supplied charging cable. The cable has two double-sided attachments that connect magnetically to the back of the smartwatch. I found it to be reliable, although not as secure as the round attached fit offered on the Suunto Race S.

How did I check?
I’ve been wearing the Legion Pro smartwatch almost non-stop for three weeks straight. During this time I was constantly tracking my health metrics and sleep and doing many different activities. The most notable were walking, biking, soccer, and walking. To test its water resistance rating, I took great pleasure in dropping the watch into a bucket of water. I also tested its smartwatch features, including taking calls, answering texts, and map navigation.
