Huawei has now officially launched the Watch Fit 5 and Watch Fit 5 Pro in China, confirming the display sizes, brightness levels and prices after leaks earlier last week. The standard model starts at CNY 1,099 while the Pro version jumps to CNY 2,099, bringing sapphire glass, ECG and free diving support for the high asking price.
That gives us a clearer picture of where Huawei has positioned these watches. The regular version sits in the usual fitness tracker space, while the Pro moves closer to the premium sports watch category with improvements that go beyond looks.
The standard model keeps things simple
The Huawei Watch Fit 5 comes with a 1.82-inch AMOLED display that reaches a brightness of up to 2,500 nits. It uses an aluminum alloy case, which is 9.5mm thick and weighs 27 grams, so Huawei obviously keeps focusing on small and light design.
This is the most affordable option on the list, priced between CNY 1,099 and CNY 1,199 depending on the version. That works out to about $160 to $175, which puts it in the same conversation as other mid-range fitness watches rather than a full flagship smartwatch.
The overall design doesn’t stray too far from previous Watch Fit models. It’s still a rectangular watch designed for people who want a bigger screen than the band can offer, without going into the bulk of a full-on watch.
Huawei also says the watch brings improved heart rate accuracy and a new slow-stretch feature, which appears to be aimed at nudging users to shorter movement sessions during the day rather than focusing solely on formal exercise.
The Pro model is where things get really interesting
The Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro gets a large 1.92-inch AMOLED display. It also adds sapphire glass and a titanium alloy bezel, giving it a more notable hardware setup than the regular version.
This is also where the aspects of health and sports begin to clearly diverge. The Pro includes ECG monitoring and support for diving up to 40 meters, making it more than just a fancy version of the same watch.

Huawei is pricing this model between CNY 2,099 and CNY 2,199, or about $308 to $323. That puts it in a very different bracket, and suggests that Huawei sees this as a competitor for consumers looking for high-end alternatives to Garmin, Amazfit and Apple Watch rather than fitness trackers.
One important detail is that the official launch confirms the brightness of the Pro at 3,000 nits, not the 3,500 nits suggested by previous leaks. It’s a small fix, but it shows why launch date confirmation is still important even if most of the hardware is already leaked.
In addition to other annual renewals
What stands out here is that Huawei doesn’t just add a few cosmetic improvements and call it a day. The Watch Fit 5 Pro feels like a deliberate attempt to create more distance between the standard and premium models.
Features such as sapphire glass, titanium accents, ECG and diving support push it beyond the usual “Pro” function. It starts out looking less like a fitness watch with extras and more like a simple sports watch for people who don’t want something as big as the Huawei Watch GT or the Watch Ultimate.
That also makes the contrast with the Watch Ultimate Design Diamond Edition more interesting. One device leans towards comfort and statement style, while the Watch Fit 5 Pro focuses more on functional sports features with added value on top.
Huawei says that sales in China start on April 29. Prices in Europe are not fully confirmed yet, but the previous expectations of around €199 for the standard version and €299 for the Pro still look realistic based on where the Chinese prices have arrived.
