The latest iOS versions of the iPhone include a custom gradient background generator, which allows you to create wallpapers that look as good as you like, but many users may miss this feature because it is included in the collection of LGBTQ Pride wallpapers for iPhone.
Looking for a green multicolored gradient wallpaper? A grayscale gradient? A vegetable gradient? Grades of every rainbow? The new Pride wallpaper allows for complete color customization, giving you an easy way to have a unique wallpaper designed just for you, in any colors you’d like to see.
You must have iOS 26.5 or newer on your iPhone to have this gradient wallpaper generator feature available to you. If your iPhone is up to date, creating a custom wallpaper is easy:
How to Create a Gradient Color Custom Wallpaper on iPhone
- Open the “Settings” app on your iPhone
- Go to “Wallpaper”
- Tap on “Add new wallpaper
- Scroll down to the identity wallpapers to find the “Pride” section and tap that (you may need to click “Get” to download them to your iPhone)
- Tap on the new Pride Luminance background options
- Tap the color picker button to customize the gradient colors on the wallpaper
- Swipe and select/deselect the colors you want to use as a custom gradient wallpaper
- Customize the rest of the lock screen and wallpaper as you see fit, including widgets and clock size, then tap “Add” to add the custom wallpaper to your iPhone and use it.

And one more:

By default, the new “Pride Luminance” wallpaper is the classic LGBTQ+ rainbow that no doubt everyone knows, which also resembles the six-color Apple logo that the company has used for a long time, and there is another default multi-color MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+ option that is more inclusive, but you would like to choose new colors with Price.

Note that these Pride wallpapers are not available in all countries, and some countries and regions have specific government bans against related images, including Russia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Devices sold or connected to those regions rarely have access to LGBTQ wallpapers, including the new customizable Luminance wallpaper as discussed here.
There are rumors that iOS 27 will include more custom wallpaper generation, and it’s likely that feature will be similar to this Pride Luminance wallpaper generator. In this way, this feature may give us a look at the future wallpaper options on the iPhone that may start from scratch.
