Samsung has made it official: its Galaxy devices come from within Spider-Man: A New Daythe next Spider-Man film, will be in theaters on July 31. Fans caught a few glimpses in the first trailer, and now Samsung is now confirming the full extent of its role.
Phones are not accessories. Peter Parker (Tom Holland) owns a Galaxy Z Flip 7, while his best friend Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon), the “boy in the chair” who is in charge of tech support for the titular hero, uses a Galaxy Z Fold 7 and a Galaxy Watch.
It makes sense: the compact Flip 7 fits the hero who skates through the city, and the large Fold 7 fits the actor who connects everything behind the screen.
Spidey Tracker brings the movie to the real world
The partnership goes beyond film. Samsung and Sony Pictures are launching Spidey Tracker, a fan-powered website that pulls a plot point directly from the film where Ned builds a custom site to find Spider-Man.
The original version is powered by Samsung Galaxy and launched in 35 countries. The campaign will include character appearances and interviews, live activations, content drops, and hidden easter eggs at live events, locations, popular creator videos, and Samsung Experience Stores. Fans can follow the visuals in real time and post their own.
Samsung teased the Spidey Tracker today, and it opens to the public on Wednesday, June 17 at 3 pm ET on SpideyTracker.com, along with the release of the second trailer. There’s also an X account, @SpideyTracker, for insights and updates.

A tie-up like this is a smart bet for Samsung. First of all Brand new Day the trailer attracted 718.6 million views in its first 24 hours, the largest trailer launch ever for any movie or game; and is reportedly the first movie trailer to cross a billion views. That puts the Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 in front of a large audience just a few weeks before the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 launch.
Brand New Day is the biggest platform for Samsung Galaxy
Spider-Man: A New Day is expected to be the biggest film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in mid-2021 Spider-Man: No Way Home and the future Avengers: Doomsday. In the previous film, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man teamed up with his global counterparts, played by Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, and they competed against famous villains from pre-MCU Spider-Man films.
At this time, Brand new Day there are rumors that there will be a showdown between Spider-Man and Bruce Banner’s Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). Jon Bernthal is also confirmed as the Punisher. And for the first time since the Tobey Maguire trilogy, a live-action Spider-Man film will offer its leading organic web instead of mechanical web shooters.
Sadie Sink (of Stranger Things fame) is still in the cast, and while Marvel has yet to confirm her role, the leading rumor is that she’s playing X-Men hero Jean Grey, who would mark the first MCU character.
Brand new Day directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, former director Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in the MCU.
