For those who will rock, AC/DC congrats! Not only that, but AC/DC PWR/UP Pop Ups will be opening in every city on the next-to-last leg of the legendary Australian rock band’s 2026 tour starting a week from today on July 10, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Before I delve into what these wonderful A/F Pop Ups are all about, some quick background information. The PWR/UP World Tour takes its name from AC/DC’s November 2020 studio album which is also known in its full form: Get stronger. I have it PWR/UP on both 180g opaque-yellow vinyl (Columbia 19439725561) and CD (Columbia 19439744632), and it hits as hard as you’d expect – just like the band does every night on stage.
When I saw AC/DC’s The Razors Edge tour back on November 11, 1990, at the Brendan Byrne Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey, it was then, i loudest show I’ve ever been to (thanks, earplugs). The next time I saw AC/DC on the Black Ice tour at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 13, 2008, it was loud – but it was still pretty good.
If you want to get a new taste and/or update about PWR/UPcheck out the album’s lead single, “Shot in the Dark,” via its official, full-length YouTube clip below.
According to the official press release on MT/TR, er, the near story, it all started with AC/DC’s long-awaited – and well-received – return to the stage at the Power Trip in California in 2023, and they have already sold out dozens of arenas on all four continents. As the tour now enters its final leg, the AC/DC PWR/UP Pop Ups are intended to (in their words) “give fans a place to gather before the day of the show and be a part of the high energy surrounding the tour.”
Each location is expected to feature exclusive pop-up merchandise, AC/DC-themed food and drink, social media, custom visuals, interactive photo sessions, ticket giveaways, PWR/UP fan preview events, and a chance to enter to win a guitar signed by AC/DC guitarist Angus Young.
City-specific locations, hours, menus, giveaways, fan preview information, and merchandise updates will be available/announced at pwruptour.acdc.com, where fans can register for a chance to attend. In each city on this leg of the wrap tour, 100 fans will be selected in a random drawing to enter the area early next to the media and invited guests, and will receive a special free gift created just for that preview event.

AC/DC PWR/UP Pop Ups will feature a curated selection of exclusive merchandise and fan collectibles, including premium apparel, accessories, posters, limited edition items, and pieces created specifically for that Pop Up. Each city will also offer early access to a limited number of shirts and an official city event poster, available at the Pop Up one day before they go on sale online or at the stadium where the PWR/UP show is taking place.
Each AC/DC PWR/UP Pop Up will be shaped by the host city and venue, which is said to give each stop its own local character while remaining connected to the larger tour. Custom AC/DC-themed food and beverage menus are intended to make each venue feel like a true pre-show hangout, with select stops offering special menu items and custom-assembled mugs.
It’s also worth noting that selected venues may also feature live performances from School of Rock house bands, and offer setups for local radio broadcasts.
