Ferrum has announced the launch of BROEN, a new network broadcast transporter designed to deliver consistent digital audio performance. Designed to integrate seamlessly with Ferrum’s award-winning WANDLA DACs and HYPSOS hybrid power management system, BROEN extends the company’s high-end audio ecosystem with a dedicated digital broadcast solution.
Rather than acting as a traditional network broadcaster, BROEN specializes in the digital domain. Ferrum has designed the transport to provide a clean, accurate digital signal path while offering broad broadcast support, flexible networking, and intuitive system control for serious hi-fi listeners.
SERCE Digital to Digital Module
At the heart of BROEN is Ferrum’s newly developed SERCE DDC module, a Digital-to-Digital Converter designed to improve digital signal handling. By focusing entirely on digital processing, SERCE helps maintain accuracy throughout the entire playback chain while keeping the input and output domains fully separated.
BROEN also includes galvanically isolated audio outputs and ultra-low-jitter audio clocks, both of which are intended to preserve signal integrity and reduce unwanted interference. For users building advanced digital front-ends, this gives BROEN a clear technical focus: delivering the cleanest digital signal before it reaches the DAC.
Wired, Wireless, and Optical Network Support
Ferrum equipped the BROEN with both Wi-Fi connectivity and a modular SFP network port, giving users multiple ways to integrate streaming into their system. The SFP socket supports either a standard Ethernet module or an optical module, allowing BROEN to connect directly to a compatible SFP network switch.
This opens the door to optical network transmission, which can help reduce electrical noise in demanding hi-fi setups. Ferrum includes an SFP module for standard RJ45 Ethernet connections in the BROEN package, making wired network integration available out of the box.
Ferrum Streaming Control Technology and WANDLA Integration
BROEN is built around Ferrum Streaming Control Technology, also known as FSCT. This allows the transport to interface directly with Ferrum’s WANDLA range of DACs when connected via USB.
With BROEN and WANDLA connected together, users can control playback from WANDLA’s touchscreen or remote control. Artist information, album information, and playback status can be displayed directly on the DAC. Together, BROEN and WANDLA create the most complete streaming DAC and preamplifier system, designed to work as a Ferrum ecosystem.
Designed to Pair with HYPSOS Power Management
For users looking to improve performance, BROEN is fully compatible with Ferrum’s hybrid HYPSOS power management system. When connected via the proprietary Ferrum Power Link with 4TSD voltage sensing, BROEN and HYPSOS communicate to maximize electrical performance.
This makes BROEN particularly attractive to existing Ferrum users who already own WANDLA, HYPSOS, or both. The new transports are not only stand-alone speakers but also a purpose-built extension of Ferrum’s modular high-end audio platform.

BROEN operates on the Volumio streaming platform, giving users access to a variety of streaming services and gaming features. The platform also includes AI-powered SuperSearch, Infinity Playback, artist-enhanced album metadata, and over-the-air firmware updates. With a pluggable platform and the ability to add new functionality over time, BROEN is designed with long-term flexibility in mind.

Ferrum has included several features that help BROEN adapt as the user’s system evolves. An internal SSD slot provides additional storage flexibility, while a modular SFP socket allows network options to be upgraded in the future.
