What you need to know
- Honor’s allegedly wide foldable phone finds itself in new rumors that say it could have a 5.5-inch cover and a 7.6-inch internal display.
- The highlight of these rumors is its battery, which could be up to 7,000mAh or more, as Honor may be looking to do what others (Huawei) have not done.
- Widespread foldable rumors center around Samsung; However, Honor and Vivo
There has been a lot of talk about a wide folding, and funnily enough, the first one did not come from Samsung (Huawei did it first). Now, the rumors continue with the old discussions, as Honor’s take has its leaks.
Tipster Digital Chat Station posted a series of alleged details about Honor’s rumored extensive rollout (via NotebookCheck). Rumors suggest that the phone will have a 5.5-inch cover display, followed by a 7.6-inch internal screen. This follows along with the first industry-wide foldable from Huawei, the Pura X Max. A big part of these rumors is the alleged battery capacity.
The tipster claims that Honor could equip the phone with a 7,000mAh cell or more. If we look at Huawei’s phone, that device has a 5,300mAh battery. A post on Weibo says that Honor is aiming for “the largest battery capacity among the most foldable phones,” and this strength cry the truth.
Other details say the phone could offer a 200MP “large sensor” camera (presumably the main one) and a periscope lens.
Rumors are widespread
We’ve been hearing extensive folding rumors for months, and they mostly involve Samsung. That changed recently, as rumors began to surface about other phone makers abroad, such as Honor and Vivo. Unfortunately, Vivo’s X Fold 6, which was suspected to be a wide entry, is the opposite. The device is positioned to take on Samsung’s standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 more than it would otherwise “wider”.
Honor’s side of the rumor is that it was “only a matter of time” before the company got involved. In addition, the phone could offer a triple camera setup and see what Q1 2027 is suspected to be. If we’re looking at a wider foldable lineup, we have Huawei’s version to look back on. The company called it a “horizontal foldable,” which sounds a lot like the OG Pixel Fold.
At the time of its unveiling, the Pura X Max looked more comfortable to hold, as it opted for a shorter display, instead of the vertical display we’re used to seeing.
Android Central Take
For the sake of this section, I’ll just go into all the rumors. I would imagine that a wider wrap from Honor would do the same. Whether it’s the product’s AI, cameras, and battery. The Magic V6 came with a pretty good battery of always it folds up. Now, we have a rumor that the shorter, wider version could surpass that 6,660mAh battery. It would certainly attract attention.
