The new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra build on the foundation laid last year Galaxy Z Fold 7adds the Ultra brand to its flagship foldable lineup while introducing several hardware upgrades and adding the new, affordable model, the Galaxy Z Fold 8. Instead of updating the device, Samsung focused on improving the display, camera system, battery, charging speed, and creative tools, making the Fold8 Ultra a device capable of productivity and content creation.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
Design: Slim When Opened and Very Durable
I IZ Fold8 Ultra introduce a new one Flex Titanium feature a structure designed to improve firmness while reducing the appearance of creases. The device also uses Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 on the cover display, it replaces Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the Fold7, while the back continues to use Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and the frame remains Advanced Armor Aluminum.
Samsung also managed to shave another half of a millimeter off the bare thickness, reducing it 4.2mm in Fold7 to 4.1mm. The folded thickness remains unchanged 8.9mmwhile the weight is constant it’s 215g.
While this is an incremental improvement, it contributes to making the Fold8 Ultra feel more premium and superior without changing the overall form factor.
Displays: high resolution and contrast with minimal crease
Galaxy Z Fold 7
Samsung keeps it big 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X internal display as well 6.5-inch cover displaybut both panels are now accessible up to 3,000 nits of high brightnessto improve external visibility.
The Fold8 Ultra also benefits from a new Flex Titanium display structure, which Samsung says offers a flat folding surface and a less visible crease.

Both displays continue to support variable refresh rates up to 120 Hzit delivers smooth scrolling and gaming while conserving battery life when high refresh rates aren’t needed.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra camera system
One of the most important hardware improvements comes from the rear camera system.
Samsung keeps the best 200MP main camera introduced in Fold7, but i The 12MP wide-angle camera has been replaced by a larger 50MP sensorrepresenting the greatest improvement in graphics in this generation.
I 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom remains unchanged.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 camera
In addition to hardware improvements, Samsung has also increased the camera’s video capabilities. The Fold8 Ultra can now record 8K video using the new 50MP ultra-wide camerawhile also adding Capture HDR in full 200MP modedeveloped Nightography a new, low-light photography mode APV codec high quality video recording, and Cine LUT supporting more advanced color grading. Additional tools like My FanCam also expand the phone’s ability to focus on the creator.
The phone still works Dual Recording, which simultaneously captures video from two cameras at the same time. Depending on the shooting mode, users can record with both front and rear cameras or capture the same scene on two different rear cameras, making it useful.
New Software Features
The Fold8 Ultra comes with Android 17 again One UI 9brings Samsung’s latest Galaxy AI features to the foldable.
Among the new additions are Now Brieflydelivering personal information throughout the day, Now Movecontextual AI suggestions based on user activity, and expanded Gemini Intelligence integration into all Samsung applications.
Samsung also introduced the AI Assistant Career Dashboardallowing users to review AI-generated actions while giving them greater control over privacy settings with Samsung Knox.
Many of these features are designed to take advantage of the Fold’s large internal display, making multitasking and productivity better suited to a foldable form factor than a standard smartphone.
Hardware and battery: New flagship processor and better battery
The Fold8 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxyinstead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite found in the Fold7.
With the new battery capacity, this is a very significant hardware upgrade. Qualcomm claims +20% CPU performance, + 35% efficiency of CPU power, again +23% graphics performance while using 20% less power. than the previous generation Snapdragon 8 Elite. While RAM and storage configurations remain the same in 12GB or 16GB with until 1 TB last, Samsung has Battery life is greatly improved by increasing the dose from 4,400mAh to 5,000mAh.
Charging also gets a reception upgrade. Wireless charging is increasing since 25W to 45Wwhile wireless charging is on the rise 15W to 20W.
Samsung also increased the graphite cooling system, allowing the processor to maintain high performance for longer periods of time during gaming, video editing, and AI workloads.
